... until EAC is implemented ...

Sorry, but a burnt child dreads the fire. It´s a multiplayer game and it is Early Access. Remember

SCUM
Paladins
Apex Legends (not Proton, but Wine)
...
This is a solo/co-op game, they really have no need for EAC and from what I read they have no plans to add it in either.

That's all I needed to hear ...

There, I just bought it.

This has been on my wishlist since it first came to Steam. It's successfully navigated the swamp of Early Access, not drown nor been sucked down into quicksand, so the only other thing I was waiting on was a deep discount since it was a Windohs only title.

But hey-presto! It's playable on Linux (thank you Steam Play and Wine and the Blind Dancing Gaming Gods of Caprice) so the little man in my head flipped the switch labeled "OH SHIT! BUY IT NOW!" and I did.

They ought to give you a percentage of my sale, Liam. From your lips to their wallets.
We do get a tip from GOG and Humble using our links, sadly Steam has no partner program.

You might want to rephrase that ;)
Thanks, fixed, in future "For spelling, grammar and other corrections to our article—click here" (it just helps keep comments on topic)

Linux Gaming News Punch - Episode 2

Quoting: CimerydFor some reason or other, my podcast app can't see the new episodes and insists there are no episodes since 2016. This goes for both the ogg and mp3 link.
What application are you using? The feed is valid and working across three independent checking websites and Thunderbird picks it up fine too. Would like to see so I can find the issue.

Quoting: liamdaweThanks to a gift, I can confirm it is indeed missing the Steam API file. I've emailed the developer and pointed them to the Steam topic.
Still not fixed after 10 days? Going to have to refund this game then. Sad, but completely game-breaking bugs are totally unacceptable. At least LOAD the game up on other platforms to play test them. It's not like Linux isn't free.
The developer told me they were hoping to have a patch out by the end of the week, sadly it seems that was missed but they are on it.

Something for the weekend: HITMAN 2’s first mission is now free and works great in Steam Play on Linux

Quoting: BrissePlayed 10 hours already. First impressions were not good with major stuttering while compiling shaders but after running around for several minutes and putting up with the stuttering it finally goes away as most of the level has been explored and the shaders are saved to disk cache.
It's odd, I was fully expecting it to be stuttery, but even on my first attempt at that particular level, I didn't really see any.

Quoting: DribbleondoWell that went well.

Also, you don't have to have GOTY to get Hitman 2016's levels, Owning the game with all locations bought on steam is enough.
Good catch, I misread it a little, fixed.

Cold Hearts, a visual novel about dating household appliances is real and heading to Linux

Why did you have to make that joke about it being a 'passion project'? ಠ_ಠ
Not a joke, literally what they say about it.

Armello, the really fun fairy-tale digital board game had a huge upgrade

I agree the situation wasn't good with what happened with the GOG release of Armello and we still don't know the real story behind what happened. It's no longer available to buy on GOG (and it's certainly not the only game to be removed from GOG).

GOG certainly do have some issues especially for Linux gamers with no Galaxy, late updates, no API for Linux relying on manual FTP uploads and so on. However, plenty of games do have DLC on GOG so I still to this day find their explanations a bit off about it all.

I like what GOG do a lot and I like Armello a lot too, the situation sucks for GOG customers but I don't let that stop me enjoying a genuinely good game on Linux on a different store.

GOG are ending their 'Fair Price Package program', soon after letting staff go

Quoting: NezchanRegarding GoG's Linux support, I can't recall where I read it (it may have been during a conversation on Mastodon), but I've been told that they only have one person in charge of Linux updates, and they don't tend to respond to emails promptly. Which is a huge disadvantage for Linux devs since, as was noted on an article here on GoL, updates are sent to them via manual FTP and then manually applied at their end. So not exactly good service on their part.
I covered that here: https://www.gamingonlinux.com/articles/putting-games-across-multiple-stores-is-not-easy-as-developers-keep-noting-recently.13421
