Quoting: TheBardYour content is great! GamingOnLinux is one of the few site i read every day. I just would like the articles to not over-advertise games and stores until there is a high chance that they actually support Linux for real. The obvious example is the recent closed-plarforms-only store specialized into exclusives that i won't name but even grey stores such as the one dedicated to DRM-Freeness which objectively half support us which is not the worst we've seen, but not the greatest too! Articles already rewards initiatives towards Linux gaming, which is awesome, but i do hope to see more criticism against what hurt Linux gaming.Hey there! If you do have any ideas on things we should cover, absolutely email us any time!
I’m in shock at just how well Overwatch runs with the latest DXVK and Lutris

Quoting: EhvisNo, it's upscaled because otherwise YouTube murder 1080p videos.Quoting: liamdaweWell, that video was on 1080p while your video was 4k. Were you actually playing the game on 4k resolution?Quoting: gurvHonestly the performance seems disappointing.Considering this is all 100% unofficial, it's pretty damn good.
Just look at this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ux998aNR9-Y [External Link]
Same GPU as yours and ultra settings (vs very high for you) and the framerate never dips below ~140fps vs ~70fps for you.
So what appears to be less than half the performance of Windows is not exactly great.
I've been used to a lot better performance of DXVK in other games.

I seriously don't get the issue some have with games actually including a more diverse cast :)
Sin (our streamer, a girl) plays Overwatch religiously and partly because it's so diverse and interesting.

Paladins, the team-based shooter seems to work well with Steam Play

Quoting: DoctorJunglistYeah, i wouldn't do that. Asking for trouble and then you don't know if it happens (bans) because EAC changes or because you changed the files.Quoting: PatolaSome people are saying that if you get the EAC DLLs of Paladins and use it in other EAC games (overwriting their version), the game starts working under Linux. Maybe it works for the Darwin Project?Honestly, I'd be real wary of trying this - it's like asking for a ban (I mean, you're replacing the anticheat with a different version after all).

Quoting: amataiIs it free like in free software or like in free beer?Free of cost, if it was free/open source I would have mentioned that.

Oh my, what have I done *grabs popcorn*
TF2 isn't a bad game, it's not that I outright hate it or anything, just never clicked with me personally.
When comparing TF2 and Overwatch together side by side, Overwatch just has more of a draw to it. I just can't get excited about being a Soldier, a Pyro or a Scout and so on, they feel like they have no identity whereas Overwatch heroes have such big and loud designs to them and they do look (to me) a lot more interesting and that shows in the gameplay too.
But hey, keep arguing over it ;) play what you want :)

Quoting: dpanterI'm guessing the jerky aiming in the video is due to Liam playing with a controller... :whistle:Nah, I'm just crap mate :P, jokes aside it's my dodgy wrist that makes FPS games difficult.

Quoting: shigutsoTF2 sure did become an inspiration for many games, doesn't mean it's not old and stale though.TF2 feels like it has no identity, it feels…bland.Come on man, Team Fortress is the one that started it all, maybe it doesn't feel "modern" for today's standards, but it's still a great game, without it Overwatch probably wouldn't exist :P
Quoting: shigutsoOverwatch is cool, but all TF versions have native Linux support, so let's give them some praise shall we :DSorry, blind praise for being on Linux is something I don't and will never do
