Post updated. Will continue to update as I play more.

Looks like both A Hat in Time and Gravel are coming to Linux, ports from Virtual Programming

Quoting: slaapliedjeWeren't they supposed to port Two Worlds II?
No, that was an in-house port from Topware Interactive who no longer have a Linux person (last I heard from them).

Quoting: Mountain ManI don't know if I would call a shop exclusively for a single game engine from a single publisher "serious competition" for Steam. Unless Epic tries to muscle developers to only release through the Epic store (unlikely) then I suspect most folks will publish to Steam and GoG as well and collect their profits from whichever distribution system customers happen to use.
Hmm.. Epic's announcement specifically mentions that the store is open for games using any engine. It is not Unreal Engine exclusive.

Edit:

From their announcement: "All Engines Are Welcome
The Epic Games store is open to games built with any engine, and the first releases span Unreal, Unity and internal engines."

And from Liam's article: "Although, to be clear, they state their store will be open to any game engine."
Yeah, I think there's a good few people who didn't read the details.

Quoting: scaineThis looks vaguely Dead Cell-sy. Beautiful background graphics too, really smooth movement. I guess it's on the slightly pricey side, but the quality here suggests it might be worth it.

Did you get a key, Liam? Wondering if we'll get a review. But with 34 positive reviews on Steam and not a single negative review, I suspect I'll end up pulling the trigger on this regardless. Just have to tear myself away from what is becoming a horrible trio-addiction of Slay the Spire, Overwatch and 7 Days to Die...
Nope, no contact with the developers on this one.

From Steve's Discord announcement:
Sorry we've gone silent for the last couple of weeks. Epic has some big releases coming out for both Fortnite and Paragon, and most members of the UT team are helping out with those games right now. We're still working on UT in a different branch, but are doing some large refactoring that is reducing build stability and doesn't make sense to merge to the main branch until it settles down. We will update you on status soon. Until then, we look forward to seeing what the community continues to create with the current build of UT, which is the most stable and best performing version we have released.
That was a year ago. Epic have since confirmed Unreal Tournament is not currently seeing active development.

Quoting: cRaZy-bisCuiTHaven't this addon being released ages ago? But not for Linux?
No. The open beta for Windows starts on December 8th. It's not an addon, both this and the previous games are standalone complete games. Before that, there was a mod but that's years old.

But they do have some Linux-friendly devs (or at least used to - the creator of SDL was there for a while). Rumors have it there were native Linux ports of some of their games, but corporate did not want to release them, even as unsupported builds.
Sure. So...they don't support Linux. ;)

See his second bullet point reply, notice the smile emoji too. Pretty nice hint that.

Quoting: 0aTTThere will be no port of Fortnite. They won't even customize their anticheat for DXVK like Blizzard did.
What? Never in my life have I heard anyone, ever say Blizzard specially customise their anti cheat for Linux. Hint: they don't, they don't support Linux at all.
They didn't invest a billion dollars, but they simply helped us solve the problem:

Epic would never provide such support. They would rather emigrate to Canada.
Rubbish. Blizzard unbanning people, then banning some again only this last week (as noted on Reddit) is not Blizzard supporting Linux in any way. Don't see something that isn't there. Blizzard don't support Linux, anyone saying otherwise is just...*sigh*

Quoting: 0aTTThey helped Wildcard for example with the ARK Dev Kit which, of course, never was ported to Linux. Plus Ark is a ugly mess on Linux thanks to Epic and Unreal Engine. And Life Is Strange based on Unreal Engine 3.

Most of the ports based on the Unreal Engine are construction sites.
Giving a dev a little help with something, doesn't change anything. Wildcard own ARK, Wildcard are responsible for the Linux version of ARK, not Epic.

The original Life is Strange...Unreal Engine 3. Do I need to say more? No official Linux support in UE3 anyway, UE3 and 4 are different beasts.

I really don't know what you're trying to get at. You just seem hellbent on disliking Epic Games with some sort of bias that's showing through very clearly.

Quoting: 0aTTThe UrealEnginge produce garbage for Linux and you need good porters like Feral to sort this out. The best would be if Epic would stop supporting Linux, so that we can finally play Ark via Proton and not have to wait for ages for ports like LifeIsStrange.
Now it's pretty clear you don't know what you're talking about. Ark is nothing at all to do with Epic. Life is Strange Before the Storm is also nothing to do with Epic and was built with Unity. Game developer decisions on their game engine choice and platform release choice is not down to Epic. Do some research.
