Quoting: liamdaweOuch, another botched release? Was hoping that wouldn't happen after The Witcher 2.
I wonder how they tested it on their systems or did they validate it at all.
I't might be just simple silly thing like missing some files from the build they sent up to steam though..
I wouldnt call this a botched release yet. Lets give them some time. But it worries me that theres even not a single reply from devs/VP to the issue.
Give it another 12 hours. Time zones and all that - VP employees are probably not at work right now. They'll be having a fun day tomorrow though I guess.
Either way it's not a very good look. I am constantly surprised when devs release something and then go home without waiting on reports first.
I would hope they have a life outside of the office, and their company ensures they work the contracted hours, no more no less.
The total amount of hours is one thing. But this issue could be avoided with releases earlier in the work day so that you actually have time to receive(and act on) feedback.
Yes, that was my point that seems to have been missed. You shouldn't release if you have no time to deal with urgent issues. Firing and forgetting as seems to have been the case yesterday is not a good idea for anyone. Why should we have to wait 12/24 etc hours until it works? If it releases, it shouldn't just fail to work for seemingly everyone.

I don't want to be overly negative, but it's very annoying.

I guess I'm being too simple here, but downloading even once using a key on a test dummy Steam account would have showed an issue, if it was simply missing files. If the problem is deeper than that, with multiple not being able to launch at all (all seemingly the same issue) then enough testing simply wasn't done. You can argue lots of different configs, sure, but this is repeatable easily it seems.

The Steam Autumn Sale is live, with some epic deals going

Quoting: stretch611Oxygen Not Included is only 25% off. You get an additional 20% off if you already own one of Klei's other titles.

https://store.steampowered.com/publisher/klei [External Link]

But some are really cheap and worth buying even if you only want to get the 20% discount. However, you can bundle ONI with the Don't Starve collection for only $26(US) including the latest Don't Starve DLC: Hamlet. (and credit for any title you may have.)

Edit: I chose Klei for the best developer category.
And as usual, I forgot that. Apologies, Steam just doesn't mention why a discount is higher for you when it damn well should.

Quoting: liamdaweThanks, I stopped following a year or so ago when they didn't do anything with it. Glad to know the fix is quite simple. Hope it helps others seeing this.
I can't help but notice that a certain "LiamD" posted something below this fix two years ago... :)

But I wonder why the developers did not simply remove the 64bit version themselves, that should've taken care of the problem, right?
Correct, I am also LiamD on Steam.

Added Rise since it really is quite a deal. Won't be adding more though, have to stop somewhere.

This War of Mine: Stories - The Last Broadcast release for Linux as promised, needs a fix on Ubuntu

Quoting: DesperalawI was able to play the DLC Day 1 on Manjaro Linux, finished at 100% again btw :-P
It also launches without any problem with the latest NVIDIA driver.
It's likely a problem with either Steam, Unity or Ubuntu with library linking or something. I remember a similar issue with a few other games. As always, there's inconsistencies in behaviours across distributions.

Quoting: liamdaweFor those talking about the price, the game is regularly heavily discounted.
Liam, you forgot to mention the regular market, for selling and buying resources.
Hmm? The what now?
The galactic market:

That's a free patch feature though, the details outlined in the article were just for the DLC :)

I guess discounts mean different things to people, as to me 50% is a pretty big discount.
