It has certainly become a fair bit closer to Fortnite indeed, which is a shame. I will be interested to see if they do put the single player/co-op stuff and the other multiplayer game modes in.

I won't write it off though, if they're able to hit a sweet spot for people who struggled with Fortnite they could hit a niche. Remember, they don't need to be the most popular game in the world.

As I always say, if a developer is willing to put in the effort, we will support them. People can spectacularly mess up, but it doesn't mean they can't improve.

It's not a new version though, it's a new Beta.
It seems everyone is (almost) forgetting that.

Well, all the changes from the Proton beta were pushed to the main Proton branch (the default), so I wouldn't expect this kind of issue to happen.

Are you sure it's a GOG key and not a DRM-free download directly from Humble? That's how it usually works. I don't see a mention of GOG anywhere.

Yeah I had two open, looked at the wrong one. Quite a few on Humble do have GOG keys too :) updated that bit.

I couldn't even do that. I tried the brute force reinstall method which works, so Valve now have a log where it had the issue and a log where it works fine. Hopefully that might help them track the issue down.

As you said, I sincerely hope this is something that gets ironed out because it's going to be a repeating issue I fear and something that will put people off if they have more than one monitor.

They badly need to sort controls, but it works! Here's some:

E - Interact, craft.
X - Drop.
Q - Push.
Left mouse - Hit.
Right mouse - Block.
Middle mouse - Throw.
