Microsoft is rumoured to be looking to buy Valve, EA and others

Quoting: BlackBloodRumAlmost can't believe Microcrap own Valve now :'(.

So, what's going to happen to the games we own? Are Microcrap going to disable the Linux versions? :-(

This is a sad day indeed!
....what?

You might want to re-read the article. Microsoft do not own Valve, they're rumours about companies MS could look to try and buy, with Valve being a "whisper".

It won't happen.

Quoting: michaTo easy all your fears about Valve being owned by Microsoft:

(It's 5 years old and related to an EA acquisition but I don't believe that his stance has changed much.)
Don't remember seeing this one, I doubt his stance has changed :)

The delightfully evil Dungeons 3 is to get three DLC, the first 'Once Upon a Time' has been revealed

Quoting: cRaZy-bisCuiTLiam, honestly, that's no good explanation in this case: They even made jokes within Dungeons II about Free2Play and mass DLCs and do the same thing now within this series. That's unfortunate.
Well it's what happens. Games get to a stage where half a team could be doing nothing, so they get them working on DLC.

With some attitudes, i feel like a lot of the time a developer just cant win. Not saying this is anyone here, just speaking in general.

They release DLC - "ergh not DLC!"
They release a sequel - "not another one!"
...and so on

Quoting: Purple Library GuyFrankly, looking at the graphics in that trailer I find it kind of bemusing that it needs any options to let lower-end computers play it smoothly.
This line of thinking always makes me laugh. A graphical style doesn't really have that much to do with how much computing resources a game needs ;)

Quoting: stretch611Barely released for 3 months and already 3 DLCs announced?!?
There's many reasons for this, the most often is that when a game is ready for release or just in a bug fix mode for release, people right away begin working on new content (like artists and so on) or else they're doing nothing. It's very common, you don't want half your team sitting around doing nothing :)

The developers of game launcher 'Launchbox' on porting it to Linux, due to Windows 10 privacy issues

Quoting: Asuwell, all I know I love steam and itch (hello gog! where's my galaxy?), any extra store is a welcome addition.
Problem is, emulation is a very shaky biz. GOG's doing gods work to bring back old DOS games. (still where's my galaxy client for linux?!) And Nightdive who is doing it on steam. (thank gods) I'm buying up them like candy because my country was outside of distribution channels during the 80's. Heck even in the early 90's.
Sony and Nintendo will never agree with any emulation.
It's not a store, it's a game launcher.

If we can't have an open-world game like I said in the article, honestly, I would like to see Prey on Linux.

I tested it a bit on a friends PS4 and it was such a fantastic game and I do love my shooters. We don't have enough story-based first person shooters, nowhere near enough and it's a solid porting option IMO. Good graphically, interesting story, interesting characters and my friend couldn't stop talking about how good it was.
