The Linux 2017 GOTY Awards are now open for nominations

Quoting: dannielloEVERSPACE is nominated? Hmmm... Officially EVERSPACE is not available on Linux (according to Steam/GOG websites). It means that it could be abandoned. On the other hand - Ticket to Ride in theory has Linux version (according to Steam website), but in fact it is obsolete - developer has abandoned Linux version some time ago...
You can buy it, install it and play it on Linux and they have kept it up to date including DLC support. After weighing it up, I decided to allow it.

PSA: I've moved the nomination box inside the categories. You all find interesting ways to show-up my coding skills...

Essentially, I made it so the category dropdown box would change the data source when you picked the "favourite porter" category. I didn't account for people picking a game first, then submitting it to that (wrong) category. So this is a quick fix that works :P

Quoting: ElvanexThis isn't a game, but for the Favorite Foss Project, would LSI (Linux Steam Integration) from the Solus devs count? I didn't see it as an option, but I'm not sure if that's something that goes on the database or not.
Considering last year we accepted software and Wine is accepted as a nomination, I see no reason why LSI couldn't be nominated too.

When adding stuff like that, just hit the "Is an application?" checkbox (I'll adjust the text later to say software rather than application).

Valve hands out VAC bans for having 'catbot' in your Linux username (updated: they're not)

As soon as I was notified about the reply from Valve the entire reply was added to the top of the article to make it clear. I have since edited the title as well, and made it clear Valve did nothing wrong here below the quote.

Thank you for the fake news social experiment. It was quite illuminating.

As an unwilling participant, I'm really ok if we don't do this again for a while, or ever.
I don't think you quite understand what fake news or social experiments are, but thanks for the chuckle.
The accusing tone of his reply is unwarranted, but you did write a "news" article that turned out to be based on misinformation from dishonest sources. Valve didn't ban usernames with catbot in them, and the affected users were lying about being victims. But you obviously didn't mislead anyone on purpose. Maybe you should edit the topic to make it clear that this has been debunked?
Exactly. It wasn't intentional and anyone claiming this is an attempt at "fake news" is being dishonest themselves in trying to make GOL look bad.

Case closed, comments closed, let's all move on and have fun gaming :)

Not worth the time to bother refunding it. Too bad.
Where did you buy it from? Not from Steam by the sounds of it, as direct Steam purchases has the Linux content. Only CD Keys do not it seems (purchases outside of Steam).
Yes, it was bought from steam.

Verified files. Uninstalled and reinstalled. No joy.
You must have found some real edge-case with Steam then, as direct Steam purchases has the Linux data (since I tested it myself directly). Report it to the developer?

I really don't get the weird in-fighting over who loves what store. Use what you think is best for you, be it Steam, GOG, itch, whatever :)

On this case, Steam could do a lot more than ban usernames to fight bots - which is the point. However, as said they're still doing a lot for Linux gaming behind the scenes and I very much appreciate the work they're doing.
