How did you come to that conclusion?
That will teach me for posting late. It was until a few days ago :p

RUINER still may not come to Linux, encountering technical issues
2 Oct 2017 at 3:07 pm UTC

Quoting: berillionsI don't understand. He only said that there are problems with the Mac version, not Linux.

And at the end, i understand that he has no date for the Mac version...
The question was about Mac, but he directly included Linux into it.

Quoting: EhvisSounds to me like you're reading too much into it. I can't get more meaning out of it than that they didn't plan on getting a last minute technical problem.
Well, if you had plans for something, why would the Twitter team say otherwise and why would they require +1's on the Steam forum for interest in it?

They could mean it the other way as I also mentioned, I'm just covering both possibilities.
I'm with Ehvis on this one, seems like they didn't plan to drop the mac and linux versions until they encountered this technical problem, at least that's my interpretation of it.
Sure, as said it could be either way :) everyone will think about it differently. They could have been clearer about it.

The main thing is if it comes out or not.

well , yeah, we have our response rn with this.
Hah, that wasn't there when I first looked at it. I'm guessing they've had to put that up, due to how different it is. I did say it was suspicious!

Edit: This is now clearly noted at the top of the article, to prevent confusion.
Hey Liam, just pointing out that the disclaimer has been there with data dating back to may. I would take all of these results since then with a giant grain of salt.
As originally mentioned in the article, I did say people should take it with a large bag of suspicion :)

As for the disclaimer, it has not been there since May.

Quoting: HamishI get why the Wine question is relevant, but it does look a bit odd next to what is mostly just system and software specifications. It really is more to do with gauging the Linux gaming culture on here, which is a valid thing to want to measure, but kind of opens the survey up to a whole new world of questions. For instance, you might now want to ask what online game stores people have used, or whether they are okay playing games that employ DRM, or even just adding a manual field where people can list what games they have recently played.

If you ever do decide to go down this road though what I would suggest is having these questions listed as a separate "Player info" or similar section on people's profiles rather than just having them bunched in with the rest of the Computer info which is mostly just dry hardware information.
Solid feedback, it's easy enough to split the questions up so I will look to that in future :)

I appreciate the feedback again, however they will be staying as they are now. For one, the dual booting question has been there quite some time now.

The survey isn't about in the last month, it's about overall use on your main gaming machine, so I think a few questions that aren't just about the last month is good to get the bigger picture, hope that makes sense :)
