Quoting: oldgaroThis game is so fcking badly optimized.

I can play Witcher 3, Dying Light, Deus Ex on max/1440p and they won't require more than 3GB of RAM

This game is asking me 7GB on "beautiful"...

FCK U!

PS: I use a windows manager(Bspwm), not even a DE! ...RIDICULOUS!
Dude, calm down. No need for that.

It's Early Access, you do know what that means right?

Quoting: GuestDo remember though that Icculus has also done Mac work.. so it's possible this is a Mac only port he's doing
I don't understand. That game is already available for MacOS since August 15th.
Yeah, one look at the Steam store page tells you it's already on Mac ;)

Edit: Just did a quick fix for broken html in quotes, had to edit a few comments to fix them ;)

Quoting: MayeulCLiam, could you update the article with the workaround a lot of people seem to need? (Delete LD_LIBRARY_PATH from the launcher script). Thanks!
Forgot to say thanks for this bit of information! +1 On Liam adding this bit of info to the story. Hopefully Rockfish will pick up on that now.
I've added instructions into the article for those who cannot get it to run.

Quoting: g000hTempting - Currently it is 25% off in the Humble Sale [External Link].

EDIT:

Even more tempting - you get the GOG key and Steam key from the Humble purchase.
That's quite a good deal, but Humble don't host the Linux version either. So it's Steam only so far unfortunately.
Humble just give keys, it will still unlock the Linux version on Steam and when it eventually goes to GOG.

Is there a reason for that? If you're waiting for more issues to be solved, fair enough, but if you're worried about being counted for Linux - just buy it.
ye for counted. It count as linux purchase if i buy without steamos logo?
If there is a Linux version, it's counted. No need to think any further than that.

Space combat game 'ASTROKILL' has been patched with improved Linux support
8 Sep 2017 at 3:46 pm UTC

Quoting: g000hI'm interested to know which is the better game: Avorion, ASTROKILL or Everspace ?

Anyone have any viewpoints to share? How do they compare to Elite Dangerous?
Avorion is completely different, it's a build your own spaceship game with trading and combat.

ASTROKILL is much more like EVERSPACE, but it's already clear EVERSPACE is far more polished.

Edit: Not saying ASTROKILL is bad, but it's an Early Access game :)

Never played Elite Dangerous, but from what I know none are like it.
