Some thoughts on AereA, the colourful & musical action RPG, a case of how not to make an RPG

Quoting: wintermuteI played this at (I think) EGX Rezzed. The thing that annoyed me was that, having picked an apparently ranged class, the only way I could shoot at things was to run towards them - there was no way to stand still and aim. No idea whether or not they changed that (devs at the show said that this was their intended design, so I doubt it), but I'll wait for a big sale before picking it up.
Nah, that's also an issue. One I should've noted, but there's just too much wrong with this game to note all of it down heh.

No results were returned for that query.
Yeah, since Steam servers are overloaded.

Quoting: GuppyAs clock work the auth servers went down, it's almost impressive that they still haven't managed to do a setup that can handle spikes. But then they properly can't afford to hire a decent network guy :P
Well, no matter what people think they know, the absolute millions that will be hammering Steam is likely extremely difficult for any setup to manage.

Quoting: 14I don't like side scrollers much, but the animation looks really good in that trailer. I'm actually a bit interested now.
It's not a side scroller. 2D yes, but you can fly in all directions to explore.
It's still viewed from a side camera so it's still a side scroller.
I get what you're saying, totally do, but side scroller is a term not usually used for games like this where you have complete freedom of direction, but in 2D. A side scrolling is generally restricted to moving one way across the screen to progress.

Not sure why you quoted me to link to that, but it basically says exactly what I did.

Quoting: dodrianThe most difficult thing is that the 'ruler reaction' means they can still get you when you're trying to run - that _is_ annoying (the Frost bomb often helps here). I think Long War 2 has changed that somewhat (but I'm still early in the campaign).
That's probably one of the more annoying things about it, considering their already considerable power.

Quoting: razing32So , will you be doing a playthrough on stream like HL2 ? :)
Last time I checked they still haven't fixed the bug I had where you're forced to do a command to skip a section due to a crash bug, so probably not until that's done.
