Feral have released the Linux requirements to run Shogun 2 with NVIDIA, AMD & Intel supported

Quoting: liamdaweAs others have said, they are likely still bound by the original Publisher, so if the game isn't on GOG, Feral will likely not be able to do it themselves. They would need the Windows version on there too, I doubt they can just do whatever they please.
That's why I said above, that I'm not asking about such cases, that would be pointless to ask. I'm asking about why Feral pick only such cases to port. That's already something they can choose.
Isn't it obvious already? They pick what they think will make money, why does it need to be any more complicated than that? It just so happens games on Steam generally make more than games on GOG.

Quoting: liamdaweThey go where the main money is: Steam. It's going to be as simple as that. It's the same reason for a lot of developers.
How does that preclude them from releasing in other stores, unless they have Steam exclusivity preference? Blaming it on coincidence can go only so far. For developers the reason is usually some hard lock-in, which they fell for. There is no reason to be exclusive otherwise.
The extra work involved in dealing with another store, considering GOG has a smaller user base, likely isn't too worth it.

As others have said, they are likely still bound by the original Publisher, so if the game isn't on GOG, Feral will likely not be able to do it themselves. They would need the Windows version on there too, I doubt they can just do whatever they please.

Selling Steam keys from their own store is completely different, it's still Steam.

There is no conspiracy. I think it's time to take off the tinfoil hat ;)

Quoting: ShmerlI wouldn't mind buying in Feral store, if they'll offer games there DRM-free. They don't however, they simply sell Steam keys now. I'd accept them selling keys for DRM-free stores, but that's not the case either, like explained above.

Quoting: Comandante ÑoñardoMaybe their ports are subsidized by Valve... That could explain the Steam exclusivity..
Something isn't straight here. I doubt it's a coincidence.
There's no conspiracy here, just stop :)

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III releasing for Linux on June 8th

Quoting: PJgreat and bad news at the same time. Awesome as I really want to try this game. Bad as no multi-system multiplayer kills a lot of charm (would be willing to get it only with a massive discount with -nix only multiplayer). Otherwise I'd be willing to try risk getting it , even though DoW2 port didn't work on my workstation (no matter supported or unsupported distro has been installed).
Interesting, did you email Feral support? DOW2 is one Linux title I've never had an issue with loading.

Quoting: Mountain ManScrew 'em. Either release it for Linux, or don't, but don't expect us to beg for it.
Seriously, stop calling it begging. It's really irritating and I will begin removing comments and people who continue such idiotic toxic crap.

Quoting: cRaZy-bisCuiTGuys, obviously I know there're technically reasons for that. Still it's an attitude since the job of a developer is to solve problems. You got a problem that you need to solve by implementing it in code. I'm a dev myself and I know a few issues can be massive, but better have no port at all than a only partly functioning one.

I don't want to be separated from my friends regarding mjmtollaEr by devs because they decide cross platform multiplayer is not doable. Even though I prefer Linux at any time I don't want to force anyone to use a specific OS to play with me.
You make a lot of assumptions here. You also sound extremely immature about the problems of implementing such code.

We don't know any of the reasons here, but Feral have explained technical details before. As pointed out clearly by others.

It is nothing to do with attitude, i don't even know why you keep saying that.

There is however, a lot of stupid attitudes around here at the moment.

I will take a port that functions well but needs a multiplayer patch in future over no port.

Quoting: LeopardThan tell me Liam , what is "enough" term to them?
Whatever they need it to be. It will be different for every developer.

Quoting: LeopardWe are tiny, yes. But not for to beg for indie developer for Linux version.
Seriously, shut up calling it begging.
Quoting: LeopardI'm all okay for begging AAA games or similar huge games but if we start to hear enough request word from every developer , that won't be a good thing.
So to you, only AAA developers should be asked to make a port? Because who cares about great indie games right?

Quoting: LeopardLiam; if we let this thing going on. Every little to big developers will expect the same : Lick our ass for port of this game, maybe we can port it.
Seriously you have a terrible attitude.
Quoting: LeopardC'mon , nobody requested or at least with enough request nonsense; for DoW 3 and Shogun 2 (which they are huge) yet they're coming.
Because that is Feral's business model.
Quoting: LeopardYou can act like they're all equal but everything has a price and quality. So i won't beg for a non Aaa or non unique game.
Then don't, like I said. There's no need for such an elitist attitude.

Quoting: LeopardSo , that became a new trend already.

'Enough request'

Well , i'm not gonna beg for that shit. They're seeing us as beggars.
Then don't post, but drop the attitude. It is not begging, stop calling it that. It's perfectly natural for developers to want to see something when it comes to Linux. We are tiny compared to Windows, people need to stop kidding themselves.

Seems the Linux version of Cossacks 3 is not a myth, as I now have access

Quoting: oldrocker99I saw that Liam was playing Cossacks 3 and bought it on the spot. Windows only, it appears at least for now.:'(.
Oh dear. Keep in mind I often have access before it's public, never go by what im playing on Steam.

Serious Sam Fusion 2017 now has benchmark modes and more, here's some quick tests
17 May 2017 at 7:18 pm UTC Likes: 1

Quoting: dubigrasuWell, benchmarks are rarely 100% accurate, most of the time are only general scenarios where various elements/NPC/etc are acting at random. That's why plenty of runs are needed in order to extract an average you can use.
Of course, I just like to note it.
