HITMAN released for Linux, initial port report and two gameplay videos

Quoting: pete910Just refuses me, states I need to be online, no other options.

I'll give it another go later.

Edit:

Wonder if it's because I was connected to their server when I first started ? Thus not saved locally
It will nag you, but once you get through the nags and click load again it does work. Try being offline on Steam before you load the game.

Quoting: GuestI’d love to play this but Steam-only + additional always online DRM means I’ll wait for a huge sale if I ever buy it.
There is no always online requirement for HITMAN. See the opening section from Liam's review for more details.

"To get the elephant in the room out of the way first: The game does have an online requirement for certain features, these are extras and do not affect the main single-player story, which does not require you to be online."
My saves didn't work until I was connected to the hitman servers so I would have to call that an always on to be fair.
I don't class loading a previous save game as a extra/special feature.

Unless there's a setting I've missed that disables it.
I did test this and I tested it again then to be certain, it works fine for me. The game does nag you, telling you the save was made while being online, but I had no trouble loading it while offline.

Ballistic Overkill adds voice commands, Polish language and more

Quoting: silmethI know you just copy-pasted their changelog, so it’s rather their fault, not yours, but anyway – It’s Polish language, not “Polish” language. You know, it doesn’t pretend to be Polish while not really being, nor is it a title that needs quotation marks. Like, you know, English language, and not “English” one. ;-)
Good point, but in future we do have the spelling and grammar corrections feature for a reason :)

Aspyr Media state they are looking at ways to improve Civilization VI performance on Linux

Quoting: kshadeGood port? it doesn't have borderless window fullscreen (always comes back up automatically and misaligned when you tab out) and crashes once or twice before it actually loads a game.
Sounds like an issue with your WM, never had that issue.

Quoting: chepatiWill someone clarify whether it's better if we bought the game straight off of Feral's store or do they get the same percentage regardless of point of sale (Steam or their own store)?

Thanks
Feral get more if you buy it from their Store, as Steam do not get their cut then (Steam keys are free for developers to generate).

Quoting: wojtek88Bundle Stars sales windows keys only. So guys above did not support Linux gaming at all.
To be clear this only affects external porters. For all normal developers it shouldn't matter.
I disagree. While the money gets to the same persons, some day some manager inevitably will ask:
"I heard we are supporting this 'Linus' thing?! Is it worth it or can we cancel that for the next game!?"
Again, all developers can see what platform a game is downloaded and run on. This issue is only an issue for external porters, as some stores have keys that won't allow them to get paid. It is not an issue for normal developers who do it all themselves.

Sin has adjusted the difficulty level, dino's can now go up to level 150 as it was becoming too easy.

The taming multiplier has also gone from 3x to 5x as it was still taking far too long.

How to easily find new releases on Steam
16 Feb 2017 at 11:25 am UTC

Quoting: necrusI like this simple link - http://store.steampowered.com/linux [External Link]
That's the link my tiny guide shows people to go to, it's from the SteamOS + Linux option when you hover over the Games tab on the navbar.

Fixed. I think they could have worded it more clearly, but oh well.
