Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Linux system requirements revealed, Nvidia only for now

Quoting: liamdaweLargely depends on what cards Feral have available to test on, they won't be able to test on all cards of course.

They will also probably have performance targets to hit, so they have to set the minimum to never go below that target.
So in practice can I read "minimum requirements" as "lowest-end PC we tested on that gave acceptable performance"?
Something like that, they will have a few lower cards, but it probably didn't hit an acceptable level for their performance targets. It will likely work, and some on lower cards may enjoy it, but it won't be optimal.

Quoting: wleoncioI wonder how those specs are defined. I mean, technically you can probably run games like this even a low-end laptops, but you'd have to set graphics to a minimum and tolerate choppy framerates. I ask because my PC failed to meet the minimum requirements for most 2016 Linux ports, but I still managed to have a wonderful time playing AAA games like Tomb Raider and Shadow of Mordor on 30-60 fps and, 1080 resolution and graphics usually set to mid-high.

Linux overall market-share percentage falls on Steam in October

Quoting: TuxeeWe are talking about 0.04%. To put this into perspective: if say one million surveys were issued last month this makes a difference of 400 less for Linux.
Discussing such miniscule fluctuations is a waste of time (you are basically saying the same thing) but "Linux marketshare falls" in such a context sounds like clickbaiting.
It is a small drop in the ocean yes, as specifically stated in the article:
(...)we can mostly ignore it until the change is much bigger. That goes for when it rises too.
I am only providing this for people that care about it.

There's no clickbait here, we don't rely on advert clicks or any of that rubbish for our content.

If the results are properly correct, and Linux did drop by that 0.04%, the title is still factually correct. I said it fell, I didn't say anything further.

The latest Steam Client Beta has sorta broken downloads and updates for some Linux users

Quoting: FredOI've not had that problem so far, but maybe it has to do with this general change from the last patch list:

"Improved download and patching speeds when games are installed to a traditional non-SSD hard drive"
Entirely possible, or the recent fix for another file-system, do you have your Steam games on an SSD? If so, that's probably why you don't see it.

Some thoughts on ‘Sky Break’, the futuristic open-world game that wasn’t all that great

*sigh* since you won't give up...

SIIIIIIIIIGH split a curly one next time.
You claimed I said something I clearly did not, it's quite simple dude. I don't want people going around saying I said they ripped content, being inspired by another game is entirely different. Wording is important at times.

Quoting: liamdaweAnyway, I've entertained you long enough on this I think, back to work for me :P
OK, that's got to be intended to get my ire up.
That uncalled-for, and unbecoming.

I'm taking you too seriously? You're raising strawman arguments, treating this like an attack... Chill.

"This could have been a coincidence"
"No, I'm right. You'll never change my mind. How dare you tell me to ignore games blatantly copying each other!"

Great attitude.
No, it was meant as a lighthearted "I should really be doing more work right now".

This was my whole point about people taking things too seriously. I'm not raising "strawman" arguments about anything, our opinion just differs completely on this subject, that's all.

Chill out.

Quoting: TheGZeusI'm saying that things can be similar to each other without one copying the other.
As the reviewer who has played both games, it is my personal opinion (as it is many others looking over reviews), that this game has gameplay aspects and style very close to NMS directly.
Quoting: TheGZeusIf two authors have similar influences and write similar books that doesn't make one a ripoff of the other.
I never said anything was a ripoff, I said elements were, and to quote myself here "inspired" by NMS. There is such a thing as plagiarism you know, but again, I said "inspired".
Quoting: TheGZeusYou take things too personally, as well.
No, people take me too seriously when debating things, especially when my opinion is different to theirs.

Anyway, I've entertained you long enough on this I think, back to work for me :P

So if something blatantly copies elements from another game I should just ignore it in your eyes? Good one. I think I shall continue doing things my way ;)

Quoting: liamdaweYou seem to be missing my point, I've actually played NMS, and I am making a direct comparison to it for this game. I am not generalising about the genre, I've obviously played many sandbox, open-world and adventure games.

You just seem to be trying to ignore my criticism of it based on "there's lots of games like it around".

This game almost carbon copies elements from NMS.
aaaand NMS carbon copied them from other games.

That's my point.

I think you should have generalised.

Because they're all the same bloody thing.
They aren't all the same thing, most games generally have their own feels to them. Sky Break did not, you're still missing the entire point.

NMS did things in a very specific way, which Sky Break seems to copy extremely closely. It copied it even closer during the earlier versions which ended up being cut down for the final release.

I should not have generalized, because I am trying to make a point that this game specifically copied one other games for look, feel and general interactions.
