Some thoughts on ‘Sky Break’, the futuristic open-world game that wasn’t all that great

You seem to be missing my point, I've actually played NMS, and I am making a direct comparison to it for this game. I am not generalising about the genre, I've obviously played many sandbox, open-world and adventure games.

You just seem to be trying to ignore my criticism of it based on "there's lots of games like it around".

This game almost carbon copies elements from NMS.

Sorry to the people that watched, 2/3 games desynced and it happened last time I played too, so hopefully Feral can find the cause of it.

Quoting: TheGZeusTo be fair this was in early access long before NMS was out.

They're both completely unoriginal is all.
Being out earlier in some form doesn't mean it didn't copy things, developers have done far worse things before. I wouldn't put it past anyone to copy stuff from trailers.
NMS is just another procedural crafting game. There were a ton of these long before NMS.

It just got a tonne of hype.
The point is how much this resembles NMS directly, not that other games also populate the genre.

Quoting: cRaZy-bisCuiTWhy would you always do this kind of live streams when everyone needs to go to the Uni or has to work? ;)
Afraid I have no choice in the timing, this is office hours for Feral.

Quoting: GuestAre you one of many shiphands controlling one large ship, or is it one ship per player?
You are the ship essentially.

Quoting: devlandMisleading title.
It's not released. It's early access.
You guys make this error way too often.
My miscreant name appears near the like of this critical comment [External Link] so I feel I must explain. I've been snagged with this error before, and not just on GOL either. I try to maintain a very small number of early access games in my library because these things tend to stay early access far beyond their alleged launch date. Can we maybe use another term for these situations instead of "released to"?
Fine, title adjusted. Will have to work on a new way to do titles as "released into Early Access" is quite long to put in a title.

If someone has a short way to do it, I'm all ears (or eyes in this case since it's text ;)).

'Clouds & Sheep 2', throwing sheep around and keeping them happy, an amusing kids game
31 Oct 2016 at 2:05 pm UTC

Quoting: GuppyI like the art style and the fact that it's apparently made couch gaming - so I'll properly end up picking it up for my boys.

But... none of the trailers or screen shots show any game play or give even the slightest hint as to what you control and how?

Do you control the sheeps, the clouds, or a pointer ala. "god games" ?
Added this to be clear:

You don't control the sheep directly, but rather have certain interactions available like throwing them around, putting them in specific places, making them face a different direction and so on. It's a bit like a god-game simulation, involving sheep.

It was previously not on Linux, it now has a released build that is available on Linux. You're being way too pedantic about such a small thing.

It's clearly tagged as Early Access (a tag that has a unique colour to help identify it as requested by people), noted in the article that it's Early Access too.
