You can fix the overlay issue by opening the overlay. It will then jump to the correct size.

A Unity developer is teasing the Vulkan API in the Unity engine

Personally, I just want their multi-monitor support to be improved.

Too many Unity games completely screw up with more than one monitor.

There's a Unity version where the launcher monitor picker doesn't even work too, more attention to stuff like that from Unity is a must.

A Linux release for Kingdom Come: Deliverance still looks very unclear

Too many developers just don't plan for cross-platform development
I disagree. Doesn't look like too many are doing this. Some are, but in my experience, majority are keeping their promises (I'm talking about crowdfunding).

Also, I suppose as engines on Linux mature, this will be less of an issue in the future.
Given the amount of times things like this come up, which is constant, I fully stand by what I said. A lot of games that have released for Linux come with delays, and a large proportion of that time is because they haven't planned for it well or at all.

Quoting: tmtvlMight wanna highlight the part saying this is an independent dev in the article.

As in, this is not Epic Games who are asking for money (unless it's a front, but y'know).

I mean, seriously:

I am one of the community developer that contributed to the Unreal Engine 4
Learn to read, people.
In the very first sentence I say they are a community contributor.

Quoting: GuestGenerally I think splash screens are a step in the wrong direction. How does this look for SteamOS users?
I'm still scratching my head over this. Why did they even bother? I was rather taken aback by it, honestly. It was fine before (nice cinematic fade-in to the Psyonix logo). Of course in SteamOS BPM it goes fullscreen, which I'm guessing is not the case on desktop. But again, if SteamOS is the declared target distro, why add a splash?
Part of the reason developers put in a Splash screen is to signal to you that, yes, the game is actually loading.

I can't count the amount of games that either give me a nothing until it's loaded, a black screen with nothing or things like that.

To me it's a step in the right direction for telling people "Yes, you clicked play, I'm loading".

Edit: Formatting.

Valve have made some big changes to the Steam Reviews system
13 Sep 2016 at 8:57 pm UTC

Quoting: ElectricPrismI wish they would require a minimum play time in order to leave a review - or even esteem reviewers who have completed 50% or 100% of the game.
Would be quite difficult to do, who would set that? Steam or the developer?

Games are all different lengths, what about Sandbox games, how long would you need to play for them?

Play time is one that would be too difficult to implement I feel.

Site update: a notice about article and forum post subscription changes
13 Sep 2016 at 8:50 pm UTC

Quoting: SalvatosDo subscriptions without emails actually do anything? I have two pages' worth of articles I'm subscribed to and I have yet to be notified of anything.
Yes they are tracked on the linked page earlier, which can be accessed any time from the UserCP.

Although currently they could be a lot more useful, they are currently just sorted by date. I will be adjusting them to be sorted by the date of the last actual reply to give them an actual purpose over than being a place to unsubscribe :)

Edit: Eventually I will make it show you a notification in the menu bar for new replies :)

Quoting: StebsSo the Article headline is quite misleading.
I disagree, since the editor is a massive part of the engine itself.

The editor is what people use to build games, the editor is the engine essentially. I get what you mean though, it's not misleading but it could have been a little more clear. I have updated it to make sure this is the case.

Edit: To be even clearer, this community developer got the Vulkan renderer to work on Linux, that is the engine itself directly. Which is part of my point.
