Halcyon 6: Starbase Commander released with day-1 Linux support, some thoughts

Added a GOG link as it's now there too.

Also removed one issue that wasn't an actual issue. If an officer dies your ship gets a basic set of abilities and is able to function until it returns to base. As opposed to me thinking it was a bug.

Valve have made some big changes to the Steam Reviews system

Quoting: scaineHave they done anything about EA reviews skewing overall results when the developers make crucial changes mid-EA causing reviewing bombing, when it in fact, it's a good change for the released game?

The "Recent" system works for well-established games making unpopular changes (looking at you, Payday 2), but it's no use when you have 1000 bad EA-based reviews and 10 good launch reviews. No-one is going to touch that game, basically.
Nope, that still needs some adjustments.

Early reviews do have a tag on them to show it's from early access. In reality, it would be nice for early access reviews to stay, but not affect the score until they are re-done for the current version. Or something like that at release time.

I love it, buy it. It's seriously fun, performs really well and is already getting quick support in patches :)

You can help fund the Unreal Engine Editor development specifically for Linux compatibility

Well he now gets $183 a month from 36 people, that's already pretty impressive.

We can all hope and dream that Epic had a more open license, but they were originally much more closed off and something like this would never have even been remotely possible.

The fact is this all directly benefits us. We are the gamers who benefit from UE4 having better Linux support, it's win-win right now.

I am personally hoping it's at least okay, as I've been wanting to try it for a while.

Owners of Armello on GOG can get a refund due to it not getting DLC and online features

1) Yes other developers have said Steam is easier before.

2) The point is none of this has been properly explained until now after people purchased the game. As the game fell behind on patches and now wont get extra content that Steam will.

3) There are plenty of times when this has happened to other games across different platforms. Doesn't make it right. The entire point is people expect the place they buy a game from not to change what features they actually get/are able to get.

Hue, an award-winning platformer where you alter the worlds background colour is now on Linux

Quoting: fleskEDIT: Regarding the title of the article: wasn't Hue on Linux since release? I thought it was, since the Linux version seemed pretty solid when I tested it the weeks before, but I'm not 100% sure.
No one had written about it before, so I generally do that kinda title when it's our first time writing about it. I didn't mean it specifically like it was a delayed release, just that it is now on Linux, as in, it's released :)

Be interesting to read your review on it sometime.
