I'd like that and I think others will too.
Done.

I wouldn't count the port out already, I just trust Ethan's porting skills more.

Looks like both Dead Island Definitive Edition and Dead Island Riptide Definitive Edition are coming to Linux & SteamOS

I didn't see this before (from here [External Link]):
Store pages for the original Dead Island and Dead Island Riptide will be delisted upon release of the Definitive Editions on May 31, 2016 (to prevent confusion in the future due to slightly similar listings) but for now they will remain active for anyone who still wants to get the originals. Of course, you will always be able to play them if they are in your library!
Would be weird if they didn't put Linux support in, since you won't be able to buy the original Dead Island after this is released.

Dead Island and Dying Light gameplay is different though. Dying Light has a major emphasis on the parkour in it, a lot of quests will involve a lot of climbing and jumping. Dead Island is much more a standard action game, so it's easy to see why they can both coexists.

I decided to upgrade my dead island since it was dead cheap, hopefully I won't regret it if they decide not to push the Linux version out of this new edition, but meh, it was cheap so no big loss.

Quoting: GuestI’ve been happy with Compton for several years. ForceCompositionPipeline works too but Xfwm’s compositor is not as pretty or fast as Compton and the performance gain is minimal.
Well the advantage to this is you don't need to switch compositor, which many probably aren't comfortable with :)
You misunderstand, [nvidia's composition pipeline](http://us.download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86/364.19/README/configtwinview.html [External Link]) is for people that are not running a compositor.

Quoting: manus76On a general note: I think this is one of the more important issues and, to put it slightly hyperbolically, especially newcomers will be very easily put off if you tell them 'to get a tearing-free experience on linux you need to edit xorg.conf' they will go 'huh?' and return to Windows.
All major desktop environments include a compositor. This is why, if you're experiencing tearing you should file a bug report with your given distro (so it gets fixed for all your fellow users).
I did make a bug report to the Cinnamon developers back in January with no reply: https://github.com/linuxmint/Cinnamon/issues/4990 [External Link]

Considering it's also an issue in KDE, GNOME and Unity as well as Cinnamon which I use currently, something is broken on all of them if running my script fixes it nicely.

Also considering all the people across the net I've found using all manner of different fixes, and also shown by some of what people are commenting here on GOL, it's a wide issue on all desktops.

That way Stardew Valley will not only be ported to Mac & Linux. It also replaces the outdated XNA with MonoGame, which is much more then Ethan has to offer.
You don't know much about Ethan do you? Ethan is the creator of FNA [External Link] which was forked from MonoGame. FNA is used in lots of ports and is far more accurate at everything than MonoGame (as it focuses directly on desktop games), not to mention Ethan constantly works on making FNA perform a lot better.

GTX 970 + nVidia drivers.
Honestly, until Samsai repeatedly pointed it out to me in my videos and livestreams, I didn't notice too much. Now I know about it, I see it all the time. Until I came up with this solution that is.
