The latest Steam Hardware Survey is out

Quoting: MortenssonI guess it is just the Ubuntu LTS users that have ugraded to 14.04.4 last month. Other is a total of many distros and will remain more or less the same with a move from 14.04.3 to 4.
It could easily be something like that, but then "Other" should show the decrease, which it doesn't. This is why i think there's a reporting error.

The latest Steam Hardware Survey is out

I am not reading it wrong, i clearly stated it could just be a bug. I was simply showing what the survey says.
Quoting: liamdaweor their survey had a really big bug this month.
That is the most probable reason, like not showing/counting distributions properly.

Gorky 17, another classic Topware published title now in beta for Linux, uses Wine

Quoting: throghYet this is not the best way: Releasing the source code so that fans could do the port. Why not? There are games like "Arx Fatalis" or "Albion" where this model was used. Even "OpenXcom" uses this! The original files are necessary but the binary is open and free. Regarding "Gorky 17" the port is even today on modern systems functional without no further problems. Topware is only making money again with the title!
OpenXcom was not made from original released source code. It's 100% new code from enthusiastic fans.

Unity3D game engine hardware statistics updated, shows Linux is very low

Quoting: TakI believe that the bulk of the recent "unknown" hits come from a dart game on a kiosk-like installation produced by a Korean company, using a custom distribution. So, the stats are actually accurate: unknown distro, 1368x1536 portrait, 4GB ram - it's just that Korean virtual darts players (or maybe other places as well; I'm not sure how broadly the machines are distributed) outnumber Linux PC gamers 4:1.
Interesting, thanks for sharing, didn't even occur to me to think about arcade machines and such. Weird that they are connected up and phoning home, guess arcade machines are a different class to what I played when I was younger.
