Homefront: The Revolution was going to be a day-1 release, now they are saying when.
When what?
That was a typo of course, another editor fixed it for me.

Is that so? You do mean on Linux? It IS MULTIPLAYER!?
Actually the game is single player with co-op online possible. It's mainly a singleplayer game.

Quoting: rustybroomhandle"A real shame, as it was one of the titles I have been looking forward to the most."

Surely a delay alone is no reason to sound so despondent. If it were cancelled, or the delay turned out to be huge... then, sure. Cheer up, you probably have butt-tonnes of other things to play while you wait.
Haven't been around long have we? Delays often see more delays, and then more delays.

A Linux & Mac version of Stardew Valley depends on sales from Windows to happen

Quoting: AnxiousInfusionWhat stupid way to gauge interest. I recall the Hatred devs doing the same thing. Or are they simply saying "If this project does not return X amount of revenue, we reason that revenue from a smaller platform won't cover costs"?

Build for Linux from day one. Avoid platform dependent middleware.
Not every developer is interested in tiny platforms like us, we really can't blame them since the return is often rather low.

Also, they aren't gauging interest in Linux by Windows sales, they haven't said that and neither have I.

They are hoping their game is a success to move it to other platforms, pretty simple to understand, especially for a one developer team.

It's the top seller on Steam right now, and as mentioned in the article it has over 30 thousand people playing it right now. You might not be interested, but a lot are ;)

Steam in these cases is the lesser of two evils
I don't see Steam as evil at all? It's a digital distribution platform - so what? It's even a platform for free software. And like it's said in the article: No exclusivity periods, it's free for the users, it's cross platform, it's proven to be a reliable service, they support Linux.
Where's the evilness?
Steam is not free software. Here's the evilness !
Why the heck are you using GNU/Linux ?
One could like and use linux while also like and use some privative software.
Not all privative companies are evil. You will have to judge them wihouth prejudices and only by their facts.
If a company make a lot of moves to make linux grow by increasing the available games to it, and also make good games discounts putting games at 1.49 dollars (I purchased half life 2 episode 2 for this price in the last sales), then is not evil to me.
Sorry, but in the real world, one could use free software and not share all the principles of the free software. There are middle terms between the extremes....oh my god, If Richard Stallmans hear me is going to kill me.
Exactly. I don't share the GPL or get out approach that many do.

I use whatever I feel like using and what gives me the best experience. Ubuntu for everything but gaming gives me the best experience (I really dislike Windows 10 UI and sluggishness), but Windows does still have more games.

"Why the heck are you using GNU/Linux" really annoys me, everyone has a different reason for using it. Try to be tolerant of others eh.

New Linux & SteamOS gamer survey for March

Quoting: Stupendous ManJust a heads up, the survey doesn't display correctly if you have Privacy Badger activated. All the surveys have worked until this one, I don't know what has changed.
I use Privacy Badger as well and it gives no problem. All sliders on yellow on the survey page (I haven't whitelisted anything). Maybe the plugin in your machine has detected a trackers that mine hasn't yet?

p.s. it would be great to be tracked by the survey so I wouldn't have to select the same answers every month!!
I'm afraid as far as I know that's not a feature google docs offers. It would also require people to login.

I just re-tried it, and it now seems to work again with OpenJDK 8.

Edit > And now it's broken again :(
