GOG have put up some serious classics for Linux, such as Cannon Fodder

A lot of publishers are still put off by Linux remember folks, a store isn't in charge, the publisher is.

Quoting: JudasIscariotI though this was obvious, I guess some people aren't aware heh.Quoting: HunterZI'm a bit disappointed at how small the Linux subset of my GOG library is. The majority of my library is probably DOS games, which ought to be supported in Linux as easily as Windows via DOSBox, but for some reason there is no Linux version available. We have to get permission to make Linux-compatible versions first before we can offer them in such a way.
Obviously I can install them on Windows and move the game over to Linux to run in DOSBox there, but that's not really the point is it?

Rocket League should be on Linux before the end of December

Some thoughts on Xenonauts the XCOM inspired strategy game, now it’s native on Linux

Quoting: kshadeYeah I should have noted that, will edit it.There’s no buying and selling of equipment which I actually missed while playing it. I don’t think I’m just overlooking a section, it just doesn’t seem to have it.You don't have to buy the starting weapons, but you can sell other stuff [External Link].

Quoting: Segata SanshiroIs there currently or are there plans to implement an econo-political system? That's just a must have for me and strategy games, not really the military type. Prefer wiping out my advisories with the pen instead of the sword. If they do, then I might actually finally download this after many years of seeing it out there.Highly doubtful, as the game very much revolves around combat. Would be very weird in a game like this to have that.
Doorways: Holy Mountains of Flesh tested on Linux, very freaky

Quoting: stssBut I'm guessing this is a horror game where you walk around in first person but don't have any weapons or anything right? It's quite like that, comparable to Amnesia and SOMA a little.
Dying Light's DLC The Following will be on Linux, price set to rise soon
26 Nov 2015 at 4:46 pm UTC
It's cheaper to buy the season pass right now.

Quoting: mr-eggThis is the unreleased DLC. If you buy the season pass, you will get it. You will be able to buy the DLC by itself when it's released too.Quoting: Guestits why i have sat on the fence with this game. Its main price was too high when it came out and it didn’t deliver on performance or from reviews much difference from their previous effort. Its still an interesting title but for a year the price hasn’t dropped to properly decent levels you would expect for a "Meh, il give it a try" title .. now this new DLC and season pass ..Quoting: KeizgonThey're doing what a lot of scummy businesses do: raise the base price of their products so that the percentage discounts will be bigger.Quoting: mr-eggisn’t what this article is saying is that in all probability by the winter sale it will actually be more expensive ?I'm not sure. I mean if that's the case, then I won't be able to afford it. :( I thought it was for the season pass (something I never buy)? Or wouldn't they just add it as a DLC expansion?
That said probably for at least another 6 months until the player base is sub 1500 this will probably be the only chance to net the new DLC and the Game for such a low price.
Liam could you clarify, is this the NEW not yet released DLC packaged with the Full game for £13.50 / $18 ?

Hollow Knight looks like exactly the type of action platformer I would play on Linux

Quoting: Doc AngeloDepends if/how they use any Steam features. It looks like it will have both a DRM free release, as well as a Steam version.I guess the version on Steam will also be DRM free. You don't have to use any kind of DRM when publishing through Steam.
Albion Online, my impressions of this new Linux MMO currently in closed beta

Honestly, I think you're going way overboard on this game based on its graphics. That must keep you away from quite a number of games to try.

Quoting: BeamboomIt's not a fair comparison on any account of course. A tiny indie company can never produce Battlefront and we know it. But still. No, it's not a fair comparison, for one they are a completely different genre of games ;)
To end where I began in my first post: We thought we had it bad when we felt the consoles held us back. But now we settle with games that could just as well have been played on a friggin' iPad?
These are tough times, comrades.
;)
