I agree this is a bit disheartening and actually feels a little bit like cheating, but at least it's going to count as Lin... sorry, SteamOS usage, whereas running through Wine or PlayOnLinux would count as Windows usage, right?

I've emailed them for clarification.

Their store tagline still mentions Steam Machines though, maybe it won't be day 1 support now.
