Starbound Sandbox Game Developers Detail Beta Information

Personally I just don't really care, Steam works great for me it always has I am far more relaxed than most people about it.

I completely disagree that Steam itself is DRM it just isn't, To me it is no more DRM than logging into a gog account to have to download your games.

Like I said before Steamworks is DRM, Steam itself is not.

It's your choice to not use Steam, not theirs. They also haven't said they won't have any beta outside of Steam just that the early ones might not be on Steam as it will be too time consuming for them. So calm down dear.

I find people who think Steam by itself is DRM confusing, it's no more DRM than having to log into a website to get a download rather than having a direct download link.

Steamworks is DRM which is different.

Also Desura does allow DRM.

Minecraft 1.7.1 Major Release Imminent With Massive Changes

Quoting: Quote from SwiftpawHell yes.  I wish they would add more objectives and RPG gameplay options though.  They could really turn this into a much deeper game if they wanted to.
Yes it's something which does bug me is the game really does leave you to do....nothing, or anything. It needs more options for people who want to actually do something I think.

Monster RPG 2 To Go Non-Free After Succesfully Crowdfunding To Become Open Source UPDATED
24 Oct 2013 at 2:18 pm UTC

The point is the original title completely mislead what was happening, he has now corrected that.

It's also a very long winded way of saying "we didn't think it through properly, it will still be 100% open source but we accept donations".

Essentially he has renamed donations so you can "buy" a copy of the open source game.

So there isn't an issue now but before the title suggested it wasn't going to be open source.

It also points out how some projects can pan-out in the end.

How many people actually use Unigine? Last i checked, not many and it was very pricey.

Quoting: Quote from toorWell yea… why would I pay for a DRM version. Isn't this an abandonware? Working nicely on scummvm. Not like they ported it to linux right lol, it's just some trick I guess
Clearly not abandonware if the publisher is still selling it.
