While it's possible to disable the timer it's pretty generous and since most of the time you have no idea what it is you're choosing anyway it's mostly meaningless. No amount of dexterity is required at all.

I'm now through the game and concur that it's a great way to spend a few hours.

Linux vendor System76 releases the Pangolin, a full AMD laptop
17 Mar 2021 at 11:40 am UTC

Soldering ram or other hardware decisions aren’t really up to s76 or tuxedo, it’s whatever clevo decides to make and sell to them. If they came out with soldered memory tomorrow that’s what we’d be getting regardless of whatever we or our linux vendors thought of it.

As for Coreboot, apparently it’s far from usable on AMD, but being worked on. Jason Evangelho mentions this in his news piece about this laptop on Forbes.

Samsai really needs to stop saying like every 3 seconds...

Distortion isn’t bad, the difference in volume is more serious. You just need to do a short trial run before you start recording, though I’m sure you know that already. :-)

Great stuff, thanks for doing it.

System76 tease shots of their custom Keyboard and release the source code

I'm way past the mechanical/RGB keyboard stage. Uncomfortable to write on, tacky to look at. I wish them luck and many customers. :-)

Google shutting their internal game dev studios, focusing directly on Stadia tech

In a move that is sure to raise plenty of eyebrows
Did you actually write that with a straight face? Stadia is insanity from the beginning, if it weren’t for our Linux bias we’d all be hooting and dragging it and Google through the mud all along, like everyone else has been doing.

Linux on the Apple M1 takes another step closer with Ubuntu working thanks to Corellium

Macs have a system update lifespan, which seems to be around 8 years now, after which you need to stop using macOS on them. Windows and Linux will continue working happily. I’m a long-time Mac user, though not macOS user since some years ago, and I love their hardware, though with Linux there’s always something that makes it harder to use than it could be.

Steamworks gets Denuvo Anti-Cheat, here's what Irdeto say about Linux support

For someone who just wants to play an online game it’s irrelevant how the anti cheat is implemented and what it installs in their system as long as things continue working. If they’re not a cheater, they are happy they will have less of those to deal with.

It’s us Linux users who bring in other considerations like privacy and control over their own machines into the discussion, since these are among the reasons we use Linux in the first place. But we are 1 per cent. This discussion does not exist for the vast majority of people out there. It’s us who want to have our cake and eat it. And it’s not a jab or anything, I’m like this as well.

Wow, comparing avoiding companies to racism. Just... wow.

Wasteland 3 now available on Linux from inXile Entertainment

Yes, I was all about taxes as I understood dvd was talking about the price differences between europe and the us, which admittedly are staggering.

There’s always the option to buy a box, eg here W3 costs around 33€ from a shop. I haven’t actually looked at the box to see if it’s a steam key. It’ll be rather useless to a Linux user if not, plus there’s always the debate about whether it counts as aLinux sale or not.
