I agree that the scope of driver functions is very interesting but the actual size of particular driver cache is a little too deep from my point of view.
We have covered stuff like this plenty of times in the past and you're the first to make a complaint about it. Usually, people appreciate it.
May be read my post again. That was not my point.
I was complaining about a news that covers a low level implementation detail that concerns more a developer. As a gamer it has no big impact whether the cache size is a relative value of 10%, 5% or an absolut value of 1 gb. It's just a small configuration issue. It works either way.
On the other hand I appreciate news about Mesa implementing new features (like the news in the past) because these increase an actual feature set which has a much higher impact.

Probably not according to this recent comment from Feral:

We can't do this for you right now because we're busy with amazing secrets. If we bring NieR: Automata to Linux one day, we'll probably let someone know.

Canonical drop the Unity desktop environment for Ubuntu favour of going back to GNOME

I like unity and use it on a daily base, but if the discontinuation of unity means the death of MIR, I am pretty happy with this. Now Wayland is becoming the new standard display server and developers have to care less about the previous fragmentation and supporting two different display servers. The future of gaming should benefit from this.

Loosing unity as a desktop environment should not be a big deal. The concept will probably survive. Either someone will fork unity (hopefully on the base of wayland) or they will realise the concept on top of gnome. Pretty sure unity users can still have a similar desktop with ubuntu 18.04.

If I understand Patreon correctly it is subscription based. I will not use that but I consider a one time donation via PayPal. Is this possible?

EVERSPACE still dealing with Unreal Engine bugs, possible workaround found for Linux

This is great! Developers being open about the issue and even providing example project. Community helps out with workaround. Shining example for why it is good to be open and communicative.
