What are you playing this weekend and what do you think about it?
15 Jul 2018 at 5:36 pm UTC

At the moment I'm playing Hover when I need a break from running AWS tests. I usually enjoy exploration in games and Hover allows me to do that quickly allowing me to relax a bit so I can get back to testing. :D

The new GOG profile system is out, looks quite slick

Well looks like I have a lot to look forward to if GOG Galaxy is ever released for Linux.

A new Surviving Mars update is out, with a little tribute to the late Stephen Hawking & source code access

the Science Institute has been renamed the Hawking Institute...
This shouldn't have caused me to tear up but it did and of course afterward I launched my recent save just to see the name change.

Feral Interactive are teasing another Linux port, so that's two titles not yet announced

I'm guessing Call of Duty, though as with all Feral teases I'm wishing it was Skyrim SE. :D

It's possible 'Two Point Hospital' from Two Point Studios & SEGA may be coming to Linux

Quoting: wleoncioNow we're talking! That Project Hospital wasn't very appealing to me, but this one deserves a place on my wishlist.
My thoughts exactly, Project Hospital seems too clinical for my tastes. :P

Looking forward to the official flight update; I've used the tire bug method before and I thought it was this side of duct tape ghetto. :p

The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker is now officially available for Linux
14 Sep 2017 at 7:09 pm UTC

I remember seeing this game awhile back and thinking it would be a nice change to my normal titles. I'm glad to read it's officially out on Linux and I'll be sure to add it to my library soon.

RUINER, the Unreal Engine brutal action shooter has been delayed for Linux
14 Sep 2017 at 6:45 pm UTC

Ruiner is the last game remaining on my "feels like I'm waiting forever" list and when it came to that list Ruiner was the title I was most excited about. So needless to say I really hope it doesn't just poof like the other titles. However, at this point, I'm just going to expect it not come to Linux and hope I'm surprised later on. Really wanted to play Ruiner, oh well. :\

City-building strategy game 'Banished' is no longer having a Linux port
13 Sep 2017 at 5:57 pm UTC Likes: 1

I had enjoyed Banished when I use to dual-boot. After converting 100% to Linux and deleting all my non-Linux titles from Steam I had looked forward to Banished possibly being ported. Still, I can't say I'm the least bit surprised due to how long the port has taken and how quiet Shining Rock Software got after saying it was "...feature complete, and fully playable."

I am glad we at least got an update and I'm being honest when I say that getting word that a port has been abandoned still feels like progress for Linux games (to me.) When it felt like the norm was to just let all news quietly die off and pray no one would notice.

Will you pick up a copy to support the developer?
I'll wait until there is a SteamOS icon and the requirements are updated to show Linux. I know the build is available but until that icon is present I'll sit tight.
There's really no need to hold off on that basis unless you're holding off specifically for a stable version, which an Early Acss game is not.
I don't trust Valve to count the purchase towards Linux. So I always play it safe and wait until there is a SteamOS icon and requirements for Linux listed.
