My non-coder, non-developer takeaway is 'Game go faster, this good. Make good thing. Make game go faster." :)

Although I am disappointed I can no longer play the original itch.io verson --- simply because I really liked that very simple version --- I can also understand the devs possibly not wanting to have such an early (and what in there eyes might be inferior) version out there.
Whatever the case, I'm still looking forward to its release. I love the art design of the game and it sounds like they're not trying to make the experience a miserable one (disease, infection, freezing away from a fire, etc.) May Odin deign be pleased soon that Valheim shall be released. ;)

I bought this yesterday and already had to remove several items from my Steam wishlist ... yay! I'm glad they added a search feature. I'm going to suggest that they add a ... what would you call it? A page select feature? I'm of a sort that will browse through all umpteen gazillion games one at a time --- because there are some real gems in here --- but it's gonna take hours, over days, and to be able to choose page 23 or 30 or what have you and jump right to where I might have left off would be a real boon.

On the rare occasion someone tries to denigrate me for using Linux, I've found a phrase like, "Whatever, I just don't like being spied on by Windows." all that I ever need to say --- if I ever feel inclined to respond at all to such insecure bullies.

Quoting: psy-qEither they make Linux the scapegoat for any problems you might have, they try to convert you to Windows or they start insulting you (calling you a cheapskate, a hippie, etc .... I really dread revealing I'm on Linux in most gamer communities ...I feel alarmed at the thought that you would feel dread about having such encounters. I'm glad Liam's created the culture he has here at GoL. It's easy for me to forget just how awful some people can behave when confronting something different.

Supraland is leaving GOG after less than a year, dev says sales were low

It ran perfectly for me. For those whom it's run poorly, as has been the case not infrequently in the past, I'm thinking it's gonna be an AMD / Nvidia / dev inexperience thing.
(I also quit playing after several hours of enjoyment. I think mostly because the puzzles started requiring some real thought, and my tired brain is so rarely up for those kind of challenges in my entertainment. I've discovered to my dismay over the years that I'm much more a "see bad thing, shoot bad thing" kind of player.)

Quoting: slaapliedjeSame here, on both counts.Quoting: GuestIt is worth to note that the developer didn't support linux, he just compiled it for linux with unreal and released it without tweaking anything. The "port" performs very poorly. I read this on the steam forums a few months ago and I saw the dev recommending proton and that he wants to drop the native version.Weird, it was running flawlessly for me, and I put in quite a few hours into it, though stopped playing it for some reason (I do that randomly though, nothing against the game).

Quoting: damarrinI tried the demo for this and the performance was indeed horrible. Shame, as it’s supposedly very good.I think this is may be one of those cases where hardware makes all the difference and confounds a dev new to Linux. The game played clean and smooth on my system, whereas you and others had problems --- which is terrible because it really is quite a fun game.

I like the cut of this game's jib. Two questions before taking it for a sail:
- Is it (primarily) a PvE (like Defiance) or PvP (like DayZ etc. ad nauseum) environment?
- Can one dig and build, à la Voxel games like Minetest and 7 Days to Die?

I'm just getting a "problem loading page" message returned. Hope that means they're getting swamped by people supporting the bundle. I'll keep trying.

Subnautica [External Link] via Steam Play has been an absolute blast! The world is beautiful and complex, but the UI is simple to learn and use. It's the first game that makes me wish I had a VR rig because it has VR. Swimming through an alien ocean in VR ... how cool would that be?
Linux Mint votes no on Snap packages, APT to block snapd installs

Is `removable-media` something that can be set up by whoever is building the app? I seem to remember something like this being announced awhile ago, and I was actually quite excited when I heard about it. Unfortunately, none of the apps I tried after that had been built with this feature turned on or something, because, as I said, they didn't see my partition.
If this is the case, then the problem reflects less the short-comings of Snaps as the shortsightedness of the builders putting the snaps together ... but the result is the same, and it simply isn't a problem I've had with Flatpak or Appimages --- for whatever reason.
If, on the other hand, `removable-media` is a setting that I could turn on at as a user, then that's something else entirely; though, I don't infer this is the case from the minimal discussion at the page you linked.

Quoting: CatKillerThanks for the link, though a little explanation of why you were sharing it would have been much appreciated at my end.Quoting: NanobangNONE of the snaps I've installed can even see my data partition exists, let alone access it.https://snapcraft.io/docs/removable-media-interface [External Link]
