There are a number of exceptionally low prices for things on my wishlist this time around, so, even though I don't need to add to a backlog I'll never see the end of in my lifetime, I can rest easy knowing my grandchildren and great-grandchildren will have video games to play. (I'm going to leave my account details to them in my Will :))

I'm feeling a little bump of excitement at this news because I was looking forward to Pine's initial release, only to be disappointed by what I was reading in the initial reviews. I'd like to think that something as pretty as Pine plays as slick as it looks. I'm going to have to keep an eye on it and see what reviews have to say about the latest changes.

If you've actually hit Download on your Racial Justice bundle download page for that game and added it to your library, you'll see a "You own this game" disclaimer at the top of the store page in a browser. In the Itch.io app this info will be in the bottom bar along with an Install button. I don't doubt both games deserved your cash, but you did own them already.

Yep. I don't mind throwing another $10 at those guys, but I've got to get this off my chest - the Itch store is utter dogshit. The client too, if I'm being honest. I bought those games, I go to my client, they don't show up. So I search for them, I get the store page, with no notification I've bought it, and a prompt to buy it (again, as it turns out). In order to align the stars and planets, I have to find my original "download" link, search for the game there and press the "download" button, which I can then cancel, close my itch client and start it back up, and lo! the game has appeared.

Complete bollocks.

It's because the itch anti-racism bundle was unprecedented and they manually stopped it adding everything to your library to not overwhelm people. Not saying I agree or disagree with how it's handled, just that in this one specific case you need to manually add them because of how large it is. Otherwise, it's exactly how you would expect it to be for purchases.

Thanks - Tuubi also pointed out their disclaimer that they've added on the Download page - words to this effect. Frustrating, but it's good to know they're working on it.

Being a simple bear of Very Little Brain, I think I'm just going to act as if I own everything on Itch.io and try to download it as if I do, counting on Itch to stop me if I don't. It's got to be a sight easier than figuring out what I do and don't own beforehand.

I'm gonna see what's on sale, try to assuage my guilt at getting like 1,700 games for $10 --- if I can find anything I don't already now own. ;)

I don't really need or want demos. I have 640 titles on my Wishlist that I've already decided I want to buy; I'm just waiting for the right price point or for a game to leave Early Access. The Steam Game Festival "Summer Edition" (Have there really been any other "editions?") was simply a non-event for me.

Although not currently a Linux Mint user, I am a HUGE fan of their decision to exorcise the 'Snap' daemon from their distro. It's not the 'Snap' format itself (though I'm decidedly not a fan) but the way that Canonical has chosen to foist it upon the user. (It puts me in mind of Microsoft's Internet Explorer circa 2000.)

So skål! to Clément Lefèbvre and his crew, their distro and their truth, long may they live!
