I'm pretty giddy about this working out of the gate. I'll need to check the recommended specs, though. My GTX 1070 is nice, but it's not RTX 2080 Ti nice. :)
Any word on how well the multiplayer works, especially the cross-platform multiplayer?

Flashy, fast, and flexible. Yeah, I can see why Valve might've chosen it for the Steam deck.
I'm strangely thrilled that the Discover upgrade will be including version dates.
I think knowing a version number may be helpful, but knowing the age of that version is immediately useful when I'm considering a bit of software.
Kudos KDE!

Quoting: scaineLol, no, I'm always fond of clearer text. I looked at the article again and, well, I've just edited my comment because wtf did I think I had read? Thanks for being funny and kind. :)Quoting: NanobangSo don't update Half-Life 2 anymore. Got it. ;)...because you don't like clearer text??

Quoting: dpanterThanks dpanter, I appreciate your sharing all that. :)Quoting: NanobangDid Steam or Techland announce 100% Proton compatibility ahead of release already?Nothing has been said about Proton or Steam Deck yet. Hopefully that simply means Techland hasn't tested DL2 on a Deck yet, or have chosen to remain silent for now.
Quoting: SwannyWonder if there is still a remote possibility of native version post release.I'll have to say no, there's pretty much zero chance at this time. It's releasing for Windows PC and consoles. No Linux, no Mac. The Switch version will be some black magic voodoo cloud thing so it barely counts. :)
If anything, Techland would be interested in making sure DL2 runs as well as it can on the Steam Deck. The listed minimum specs for 1080p30 are 1050Ti/RX560 and the Deck should be fairly close to that, so there's at least a reasonable chance DL2 could do 30+ fps. :)

I'm trying to put Dying Light 2 out of my head until I have a better idea of if, when, and how well it might work on Proton. Did Steam or Techland announce 100% Proton compatibility ahead of release already? That would make me happy.

So don't update Half-Life 2 anymore. Got it.
TL;DR: Oops!
I skimmed the article and, I'm embarrassed to admit, wildly misinterpreted (possibly hallucinated) what I saw there. Skaine's good-humoured, nudge-in-the-ribs reply (below) got me to look at the article again, and I see what I wrote was, in fact, spaz-random drool. Thanks Skaine. :)
In fairness to myself, I can see where I had problems with this particular article, and why, so I'll just leave it here and go get a cup of coffee.

I wish I could play the first Saint's Row without an XBox 360. I wish I liked playing old, Atari 2600 - Nintendo 64 era games, so I could take advantage of the world of retro-gaming. I wish I could fly by flapping my arms and swim through the air as if it were water.
But for real, the first and second Saint's Row? Fucking Genius.
