Steam Play recently hit 500 Windows games rated as Platinum on ProtonDB

Anybody remember when we were cheering the 500th Linux title available on Steam? Okay, now imagine the number of Proton/SteamPlay titles available in a few years!

Suck it Epic!

Epic and Improbable are taking advantage of Unity with the SpatialOS debacle, seems a little planned

I wish I understood more about developing. For now I'm just gonna hate the lot of them, call them all greedy, manipulating goo-balls of avarice, and go play SuperTuxKart.

First-person base-building survival game 'Volcanoids' is making great progress on a Linux version

Oh.
Shit.

That's gotta be the most original FPS survival game I've ever seen. I want it. I want it like a child wants his Teddy bear. His brass trimmed, steam powered, bone crushing, earth-boring Teddy bear.

Runic Rampage, an action-RPG that works well on Linux that would fit a more casual audience

I played this last May and enjoyed myself to justify whatever price I paid for it (though I think I bought it on sale, so there's that).

I didn't finish it, however, as I got to a level about 7 hours in where I kept getting killed by what seemed like an entirely random element. I'm used to dying because I'm not a good enough player, but the deterministic despair that set in from RNGeus's disfavor was really just too much for me to bear.

Still, a plucky, entertaining little title.

Lutris 0.5 beta 2 is out to further refine the experience and it's looking great

Hmmm, so GoG's available via Lutris now? That's actually pretty exciting. I'll have to play around with the latest version.

Some Linux games we’re excited to see in 2019, a list to keep you going

Hellpoint is the title I'm keenest to see. I just now noticed it's got coop too! Doubleplus good!

Insurgency Sandstorm is a close second, with Serious Sam: Planet Badass being right behind that.

A little further back, but only just a smidge, are System Shock and We Happy Few.

I'm sure I'll buy the next Lara Croft-em-up, but I need to play the ones I already have first.

Beyond Blue has me a bit curious, too---though, it mostly makes me wish I could play Abzu.

A lot of the other games look to be great, they're just not in my wheelhouse.

Fair enough, but a demo's nice. :)

Discord announce a 90/10 revenue split, Discord Store will support Linux
16 Dec 2018 at 1:46 pm UTC

I only use Discord because it's been more reliable than Steam's voice chat. But that's it. I'm no more likely to buy games from Discord than I am to rent DVDs from the nearby petrol station.
