If you're talking about the Steam Controller, there is no need when SC Controller [External Link] exists.
An excellent point! I wonder would itch.io consider incorporating sc-controller into their Linux client?

Oh, and while I'm thinking about it, What happens to sc-controller when Steam is launched? It seems like there would be conflicts. Is it necessary to shut sc-controller off before starting Steam?

Headlander, the new game from Double Fine Productions will not come to Linux
28 Jul 2016 at 11:56 am UTC Likes: 2

Excepting Psychonauts, I haven't been particularly interested in Doublefine's catalogue, this newest release included.

Nevertheless, I've always had a warm spot for Doublefine because (Iron Brigade notwithstanding) they've released all their games on Linux. (I've even felt guilty about not buying their game because they were so consistently supportive of the Penguin.)

So they've more than earned a pass on not releasing this one game onto Linux, and I accept their apology as sincere.

Find a missing woman in 'Moirai', a FREE experimental story-driven game with a great twist, some thoughts
27 Jul 2016 at 12:09 pm UTC

I tried it out yesterday and totally missed that I had gotten to the end and was staring the "twist" right in the face. I thought the game broke, quit, and wrote a negative review. It was only after a couple people explained what exactly I had missed that I got the, well it really wasn't a twist was it? The "gotcha" ending. I was entirely underwhelmed.

Epic Games founder thinks Microsoft will essentially break Steam in later versions of Windows 10

That's pretty much what I was thinking. If the day comes that I can't play any games on Linux but only on Windows, that's the day I cease playing games on PC and switch to PSx. If that's not an option, then I'll go back to board games, RPGs using real dice, and choose-your-own adventure books. MS will not force me to play with them. I will take my ball and go the fuck home.

Auto-Staccato looks like a great new take on rhythm games

First thing I think of is Queen, News of the World, We Will Rock You.

Nah, not right off, I think. Too obvious.

The Game, Dragon Attack?

It fits the game's whole sword and sorcery theme ... So does Ogre Battle

but the fast, complex rhythm makes me think playing it would be like an ogre stampede ... I'll save it for later.

Ah!! Back to News of the World. I'll start with Get Down Make Love,

then We Will Rock You, then ... uh --- OH shit! It's Late

OMG that was my jam back in the day!! That's gonna be --- wow, okay, there's something on all my Queen albums. Fuck this list, I'm just gonna Tear it Up.

Oh, yes. I will be buying this game.

Quadrant, an interesting survival horror is now on Linux & SteamOS
21 Jul 2016 at 3:10 pm UTC

The premise alone is enough to get my attention. Actually any indie horror game that doesn't take place inside an old asylum/mansion has my interest. :P

Joking aside, I'll watch this.

BrainBread 2, an utterly ridiculous Source engine powered FPS is now free on Steam with Linux support

Shadows of Kurgansk, a good looking single-player action and survival game now on Linux & SteamOS
21 Jul 2016 at 2:59 pm UTC

I put this on my wishlist as soon as I found out about it. And although I'm not inclined to purchase it ntil it's further along in its development/out of EAccess, it's definitely got my interest.

And before too many comments are made about Shadow of Kurgansk being a "S.T.A.L.K.E.R. rip-off, or clone, or whatnot, I'd just like to point out that the same could be said for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. if one wished.

It's clear that Shadows of Kurgansk is inspired by GSC Game World's [S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow over Chernobyl](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S.T.A.L.K.E.R.:_Shadow_of_Chernobyl#S.T.A.L.K.E.R.:_Clear_Sky) (2007), which in turn was inspired by/based loosely on the [ The Wishing {or Desire --ed.} Machine"](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stalker_(novel)) (Russian: Машина желаний (198?), (which was an adaptation of an earlier screenplay draft of Stalker), the [sci-fi art film, Stalker (1979)](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stalker_(1979_film)#cite_note-slant-5) (which was loosely based on the original Strugatsky bros. novel), and Roadside Picnic (1972), the seminal novel by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky. Shadow of Kurgansk is just one of the latest media to riff on the Strugatsky original. Indeed, Roadside Picnic is listed as a 2016 TV series at IMDB!

So I'd rather just say that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and Kurgansk both have a noteworthy and eerie pedigree whose lineage is apt to extend well into the future.

TynanSylvester, creator of RimWorld comments on Linux

Comments like these boost my spirits far more than any single dev complaining about how "hard" or "complicated" it is for them to release a Linux version of a game. I just want to point to people like TynanSylvester and say, "See? He didn't have a problem creating a port! What's your excuse?"
