Are these anything other than choose-your-own-adventure e-books? I'm not trolling, I'm genuinely curious. I was never much of a fan of the genre in books, so I've never played one of these on computer, and I'm wondering if there's more to the genre here?

Nightdive Studios are making a System Shock Linux demo after gathering feedback

Quoting: Zelox. . . they didn't have a Linux machine, after gathering feedback, they find a spare pc in the basement somewhere cause they hade to look for something that could run linux . . . now "they have" a dev that's using linux . . .
The reality behind this statement belies every game dev who has ever tried to pass-off a shoddy Linux port with the excuse, "We can't do QA on our Linux port because we don't have a Linux machine." Sheesh.

Anyway, I too was tickled to hear Linux given higher priority than Mac. And I'm thinking that, as time wears on, this will become more and more commonplace. Linuxians seem on the whole louder and more persistent than our be-fruited comrades with Macs. (And also there's the whole Valve / SteamOS thing. That prolly helps add mass to our momentum) :)

Complain. Complain. Kvetch. Whinge. Complain . . .

--- Oh, SNAP! Deep Silver has made yet another AAA (or AA, if one prefers) title available to Linux Gamers? That's awesome news! (--- but wait, no. Mustn't I find something at fault about this game's release? Yes, I believe so. AH!)

"Oh. Gosh darn. This game, it is not to be released during the Steam sale. It is a thing that is not Fair. O woe! O woe! Cry I."

There. That's done.

Thanks, as always, for the update Liam. I thought it was good news, at any rate. I'm glad you shared it. :)

In Case of Emergency, Release Raptor is releasing on 5th of July
24 Jun 2016 at 12:03 pm UTC

I once struck up a conversation with a stranger in a GameStop a few years back, and I happened to mention my then drop-dead favorite game of all time was Saint's Row 2. He almost physically recoiled. He said, "I hate that game! It's so unrealistic, so silly. I don't get it."

So I asked him what sort of games did he like?

"Sports games, mostly. Some racing games. I just don't see the point to unrealistic games like Saint's Row."

When I saw that there was a game set on a space station entitled Release the Raptors, I literally laughed out loud and immediately added it to my wishlist. It's clearly not a game for everyone, but it's a game for me, so I'm thrilled to hear it's coming out as soon as July 5th.

I love "silly and pointless."

I expect I'll love Release the Raptors :D

Satellite Reign now has a co-op mode called Uplink which is in beta

I've been on the fence about this game since it was in Greenlight. I'm not too excited playing turn-based RPGs, but this game looks soo cool ... co-op play might just be what it takes to push me over into buying it at last. (On sale of course.) ;)

The Dwarves trailer has me cautiously excited for this fantasy role-playing game

Quoting: BumadarI backed it, so been playing the beta, it has some rough edges still but that is allowed for a beta. I do love what I played so far though and King ART is an okay developer in my book :)
I hope that when you say, "playing the beta," you mean the Linux beta. Yes? Yes? Oooo say yes. That would make my heart go all "Yayyy!" 'cause it means that they're already working on a Linux build.

I really want this game.

So say, "Yes."

(yes) :)

My favorite thing, even over its being free, is where the developer says: [External Link]

I also had a programmer reach out and offer to help port TE120 to Linux. While that may sound simple it was a mountain of work and I couldn’t have done it without his help.
Who was that masked man? That fearless, peerless programmer?

A fiery horse with the speed of light, a cloud of dust and a hearty "Hi Ho Silver!" THE LONE LINUXIAN RIDES AGAIN!

Who ever you are, Lone Linuxian, THANK YOU!!!
