Hello! There are tons of media that I consider to be my favorite thriller but if I have to pick one it would have to be At the Mountains of Madness by H.P. Lovecraft (of course). There are certain parts of that story where I was actually looking behind my back to see if something was there. I won't give anything away but when the explorers see the creature at the end I almost had to sit the book down. Great story, absolutely a must read.
As for scary games........I would have to say that Silent Hill scared me the most. At the beginning of the game when Harry is chasing after his daughter I thought I was going to lose it. Not only is the town creepy, not only is there creepy fog everywhere, and also there is blood splattered everywhere. Oh look there is a dead torn a part torso just laying there. Let's go a little farther. Hey here is a bright idea, let's follow the blood splatters into a dark ally that dead ends. When Harry is standing at the fence and the "dog" grabs him, I stood up, put the controller down, and went outside. It didn't help that it was crazy foggy that day. The game scared me so bad I couldn't pick it up for another week. Best horror game ever. Would play again 11/10
