I installed Paladins through the steam store btw. Just press install/play there, installed it, and off I went!
You can always try to install it though the link at protondb: https://www.protondb.com/app/444090 [External Link]
Press the install button there and then Steam should pop-up with a install window.

Quoting: MaelraneHow can you even install it? It says "Is already in your steam library", well it's not under "Games" (unfiltered) and not under "hidden"... and "Play now" just says: "An error... (invalid platform)" :(Do you have steamplay enabled for all games? Do you already have the game installed maybe? See if you can remove it or find the files on the disk and delete the Paladins directory if it is there.

Always a shame when a game runs great but is unplayable because of a borked online mode.

Quoting: constNice! Let's hope this is intended to make it work for us and other developers will do the same.Quoting: Sojiro84Does anyone know what has changed since last week? A week ago I could not play online. Got kicked instantly and now, after I installed the dotnet4, I can go online. That's what's assumed. It's worth keeping an eye open for other games that come with an updated EAC.
I assumed it was because of that but that isn't the case? The game recently got a update and the EAC is a different version that now works?

Anyway, The first encounter straight at the start was just part of the 'cut-scene', so there was only 1 way that part could go.
I then went to the city after talking to the guard, looked around and didn't saw anything interesting for me to do there and then went straight to the next area on the worldmap, just looking around, not much talking.
I guess I just should talk to every person in every town?

Quoting: TheSHEEEPYeah, I remember those times. I am 34 years old after all, although I barely played games like Atom back in those day's. I don't need handholding but a few suggestions would go a long way for me.Quoting: Sojiro84Seems like this was made just for me! I can't remember ever playing a game like this and I barely played the game since the official release. I walked around a bit, talked to a few people but got no clue what to do or where to go.I remember the times when not everything was presented to the player on a silver platter and people were actually able to figure out complicated stuff like food being sold by vendors / prepared at campfires or the quest journal not spelling out every detail, instead just giving hints...
No big shiny markers pointing me where to go, which is fine, but the first combat encounter I had I died straight away vs a bear. I was weak and had no weapons.
Also I was dieing of hunger and have no clue how to make/get food. So hopefully this tutorial explains all that so I can actually enjoy and play the game instead of leaving it collecting dust.
Modern games really turned lots of gamers into... less self-reliant versions of themselves. A shame.
Seriously, though, how was your first combat encounter a bear? They really are rather brutal early on, but the game starts with that campfire scene, which is a combat, followed by going immediately to the first town, which has a couple of rats and insects around for new players to gain XP with. Accompanied by a quest that will make you run into those.

I’m in shock at just how well Overwatch runs with the latest DXVK and Lutris

Yeah, I have been playing Overwatch as well lately. Just amazing how smooth it feels. I can't play in the highest, but that is because of my ancient 3rd Gen Intel and crappy DDR3 1600Mhz memory, since my GTX 1080 should easily be able to handle it at 4k.
So I got some mixed settings to run it at around 80/95 FPS at 4K. Planning to upgrade my system later this year. AMD CPU for sure and hopefully also a AMD GPU, but only if the new 7nm Navi is amazing.

Best part is, as far as I can see from the pictures, it has no obnoxious rgb lightning and all that useless crap.
Also, converted to euro's it seems like I might use it somewhere in the middle of the year. My PC is from 2012 so it is due for a upgrade, although my GTX 1080 still performs perfectly even in 4K resolutions (with settings tweaked off course).

I am sure I probably needed to give it more time to learn the controller but thought it wasn't worth the hassle. Strategy games need a mouse and keyboard for me personally and shooters can work with a normal controller, but mouse and keyboard is still my preferred method.
Guess I do should look at the people using the Steam Controller like a pro. Can be interesting to see.

Quoting: PatolaWhen I got the Steam Link with the Steam Controller I tried it for about, 5 to 15 minutes with CS:GO way back when. It was a terrible and uncomfortable experience. Even worse then the standard controller for the X and the PS4.Quoting: KohriasYou are really plaing an fps game with a gamepad on PC? Why would you handicap yourself that much? No, I am not. I don't consider the steam controller a mousepad. More like two mouses with a small keyboard and a gyroscope for fine aiming. Which gives more control than mouse and keyboard and it's also faster. All of this well disguised under a gamepad-like shape.
You mean you haven't seem the youtube videos demonstrating this aspect of the steam controller?
Ah, it's great for strategy games too.
