I never thought of that but it's a great point, since vulkan runs on windows 7 and DX12 only runs on windows 10 or above adopting vulkan alows devs to ditch DX11.

Quoting: Mountain ManEither it's a port, a different "game" just sharing assets, or feral was only hired to do QA. My logic is that there was a base that got ported, the release schedule doesn't matter. If an early access game adds a linux version before "release" would that not be a port?Quoting: chris200x9I'd argue that it is a port on the basis that they had to contract out. If it was really platform agnostic from scratch why hire feral? This leads me to beleive it was windows only at least at some point of development, it did have a multiplatform release but that doesn't necessarily mean it wasn't a port.I don't understand this logic. If the Linux version was developed simultaneously with the Windows version then this would suggest that it's not a port even if it was done by an outside contractor.

Baby don't hurt me, don't hurt me, no more
I mean, what qualifies as a port and what is just a game released on several platforms? On which platforms it's not a port and on which it is? I'd understand it being called a port if it were released on Windows first and on Mac/Linux later but that's not the case. The release was simultaneous.

Edit: The Mac port works on AMD so there's nothing "wrong" with AMD's OGL code it's just Feral took shortcuts and can't be arsed with a decent Linux port.

Quoting: Mountain ManOr maybe devs should embrace standards and write to OGL spec not undocumented NvidiaGL, just a thought.Quoting: chris200x9Or maybe you should buy an Nvidia card to punish AMD? Feral doesn't write AMD's drivers, so there's no point punishing Feral for something that is out of their control.Quoting: lordheavyWhy buy it on Feral store, to reward their bad decisions? They should feel the sting of their incompetence.Quoting: subAs AMD user I'll most likely have to play it under Windows. You'll can buy it on the Feral store, then play it under windows :p

I'm stumped, if you read the reddit they explicitly say not gta v or skyrim and they also say it's not a game in our existing mac catalogue so we can rule out:
skyrim
gta V
pretty much any COD
Tomb raider
A ton of lego games
the sims
dragon age
and more.

Quoting: subI dunno, it just crashed for me and after some googling it looked like it could be a 32-bit issue so I tried STEAM_RUNTIME=0 now it works flawlessly.Quoting: chris200x9Just a heads up getting it to work on archlinux is a little tricky, steam tries to show you as a 32-bit OS when you need to be 64-bit for this game. I have gotten PoE to work by installing steam-native from the aur and running LD_LIBRARY_PATH="/usr/lib" STEAM_RUNTIME=0 steamHuh? Worked flawless without any manual intervention here.
After some hours played, I've to say this might be the best game (for me) since several years.
Honestly, it's extremely entertaining and worth every cent (if you at least liked the Baldurs Gate series).
