Quoting: XpanderRelease the GOG Galaxy client for linux

not gonna buy anything from them before we are getting treated equally to other platforms
Certainly the Galaxy software is not available for Linux. However GOG had invested a lot in Linux players for several years now: availability of Linux game version when they are available, DOS games packaged with Dosbox for Linux etc ...
They deserve more respect from Linux community.

I follow Flyinghead and Retroarch team work from several years now, their work are incredible.
And they always gave support to Linux gamers, that's why I support them on Patreon.

Facepunch adjust their Linux plans for Rust, refunds being offered as it won't continue at all
15 Aug 2019 at 4:36 pm UTC

They should take this decision long time ago...
Nice 1: they refund their game to Linux gamers without the time played RUST
Nice 2: "Take your refund to support others Linux games developpers..." ? Incredible!
Bad 1: They will not plan to support Proton. Why? Is it so difficult and expensive for them to support Proton?

Anyway, on my side, even if they have finally acted correctly, I will never buy a game from this company, just as I will never buy a game on Uplay or Origin: I give my money first to game developers or companies that support Linux, such as Valve, Feral, Gog... I also buy Windows games that are Wine / Proton compatible.

Canonical planning to drop 32bit support with Ubuntu 19.10 onwards

I don't want to boot another OS, even a linux one, to play 32 bits games or launch 32 bits software, I want to launch them on my actual session and the simpler way possible.

Don't panic, I'm sure there will be soon a solution like a "steam runtime" package containing all old needed 32 bits libraries or another solution like "VM". I just hope it will be a simpler solution as installing 32 bits software is hell for a newbie that just want to play his old 32 bits game on Linux.

The Bard's Tale IV: Barrows Deep to launch on Linux "late summer", no Bard’s Tale Trilogy due to Steam Play

Soon, Windows or Linux or Playstation...all this platform war will be useless because we are soon all playing by the cloud. So I think Valve invest money in Linux and Wine development just to obtain a cloud games platform without Microsoft. At this step, support will be the same for all.

If it works nice with Steamplay, why the dev should bother develop another port for the same result?

Confessing my continued love of the Steam Controller, a few years after release

I am completely convinced by this gamepad, nice to use, more programmable buttons than a xbox360, a bank of profiles online, great autonomy ... I even buy a second for my guests. I just hope Steam will continue to offer this product to sell.

The streaming games will soon replace all known games format we know: CD, DVD, digital, consoles...
For the dev/publisher it's an evolution: less support, the game just work for everyone the same way, less development: you develop your game for one platform, the server it is installed on, that's all.
For the gamers it's an evolution too: click and play, the console mind, you don't need to tweak during several hours...no update to install...just play instantly, whatever the platform.
