Nice. Even without any DLC I got a 1.6 GB bis update indluding much better performance (maybe they upgradet to unity 3D 5.4).
My 8 core amd fx [email protected] now shows around 60% cpu usage in my city of 250,000 people while the sim is not paused. If paused it shows 30% usage. Both is much more than before, so the threading improved and seems to use all my cores now to different degrees.
Gameplay is much smoother and hovers between 20 and 40 fps at 4k resolution everything maxed out (gpu fury x), depending on the zoom level. Before it hoverd between 10 and 30 fps.

Unity3D game engine hardware statistics updated, shows Linux is very low
1 Apr 2016 at 8:30 am UTC
Since when is that an argument?
Only 30% of steam games are on linux and that was never a problem for the Steam HW survey numbers interpretation. And why should it be?
This is about pc gaming per-OS market share. Not about linux-games-only per-OS market share.

Quoting: LukeNukemLe sigh.Huh?
Yes, this statistic is seriously skewed due to small number of Linux games compared to Windows.
Now if they could release stats for *only* cross-platform games, that number would be very different.

And I apologize again. I misinterpreted "bad journalism" as "be more professional".

Quoting: TheBoss@tomtomme and anyone else who wants to derail articles, please keep junk to the forum where it belongs.I apologize. I did not know about the existense of a forum or that it is the right place for my junk.
Quoting: tuubiI couldn't have put it better myself.Quoting: tomtommeAnd as gol It would be even better if the language would be kept more professional, and less emotional. You're forgetting that this site isn't and has no pretensions to being "professional". It's more or less a personal blog with a few contributing editors and a forum. And that's a fact many of us appreciate.
Sure, GOL is gathering quite a following, but that's no reason to suddenly start emulating a commercial "news" portal / hype pusher / advertisement outlet / clickbait hell. We've got enough of those, and I for one have no time or patience for them.
Quoting: tuubiBingo. Never even once mentioned professionalism from the other sites (to which they really aren't, come on Phoronix repeatedly calls open-source projects "shit" because of their graphics).Quoting: tomtommethe Author was criticizing other sites for not being professional enough. No, he was accusing them of bad journalism and lack of fact-checking, at which point people started calling him unethical and unprofessional.
But let's not derail the comment thread any further or it'll be closed as well.
Don't make me lock this one as well, articles are not the place to repeatedly discuss the same thing spread over multiple articles because I locked one, again, we have a forum if you take issue with the way I do things.
And I apologize again. I misinterpreted "bad journalism" as "be more professional".

Why I commented here and in the other thread was because, the Author was criticizing other sites for not being professional enough. So I thought it might be wise if everyone would put his own house in order first.
Of course we all have the right for our own opinion, but if you spread it in the internet there will alway be some "pedantic" guy with a different opinion - or someone who thinks that he knows how something could be written better - like me ;)
My intention here is just to keep the peace within the young linux gaming community :D

Quoting: Guestquite right. but it is also important how you are "pointing out", see my longer post above.Quoting: TheBossEverything comes out of my own pocket, and will continue to do so. People are free to send games over however, not going to pass up free games.Hopefully costs aren't too high then! And yes, journalism does, can, and should be critical of other journalists, pointing out the ones who are wrong, as well as the ones who get it right. Journalists are supposed to be the watchdogs for truth. Ignore anyone who says otherwise! ^n.n^
And yes, real journalism also involves pointing out flaws in others work, not just pumping out articles.
