Quoting: mao_dze_dunLooks good but why the 4:3. Please let there be a widescreen.Yeah, 4:3 is a silly limitation. If it's just an option, why not, but such limitations are just useless gimmicks in modern times.

Quoting: scaineYeah, between Prey, Doom and now Descent, it's all becoming a bit of a mystery what games are being talked about. That will not happen since Quake community is quite active and Bethesda keeps mentioning existing Quake as it is. What AAA publishers usually do in subject matter is to leave their own IP in obscurity, then revive/reboot/reimagine it, finally take advantage of familiarity of old players and existing search engine results. The reason that allowed Bethesda to name Doom (2016) as it is the widely accepted bundle name of the original Doom. Doom got popularized with the release of Doom II: Hell on Earth. After Doom 2, id Software released 4th episode, Thy Flesh Consumed for Doom and called whole package as The Ultimate Doom which is widely accepted. Recently Bethesda considered Doom 2 as Doom (2016) sequel but they had to drop it due to popularity of existing Doom II.
I guess we need a Quake revival, just for completeness.

Quoting: hummer010The whole "PC" has been an ambiguous term for a long time. When I was in University, I bought my first computer (A Pentium 100). The computer lab at the university was a lab full of Macintosh PowerPC's.To be honest, x86 CPU a good disjunctive to define PC. So, current Macs are PCs. BUT, if Apple decides to leave Intel to use their own CPU as it is rumored for a long time, then they will start being not PC again.
Someone asked me if I had a PC. I didn't know how to answer which one was a PC?

No! No, no and frakking no! There is already a game called Descent from 1994. AAA publishers pull such stuff all the time (Need for Speed: Most Wanted, Doom, Unreal Tournament, Prey, Tomb Raider, Star War: Battlefront, Battlefield, Need for Speed, etc...), but that doesn't mean indie developers should do the same. sigh...

Feral Interactive are teasing ANOTHER new Linux port

Quoting: Whitewolfe80If you look at the short list of companies that Feral currently works with and investigate their recent/back catalog, it is no mystery to figure out potential candidates. Some naive fellas keep yelling for Skyrim or GTA but in reality, there are always handful of financially lucrative titles, not more.Quoting: rea987This is called PR. If Feral announces whole list of titles that it has been contacted, that would make a shit storm for couple weeks and after that people will forget about them. By doing that, they keep the interest in a certain point which is much better for awareness. People keep wondering and talking about it which is basically free publicity. Got it?But the thing is i have no idea if you watch it but the linuxgamecast are in regular contact with the guys that do the porting at Feral they seem to always know what games are coming the one thing the podcast confirmed is the software guys find the radar thing really really stupid but its the way the PR team have chosen to go.

Quoting: Comandante ÑoñardoWith Proton doing a good job for the gaming on Linux, Feral really should STOP with these silly things and just announce the games. This is called PR. By doing that, they keep the interest in a certain point which is much better for awareness. People keep wondering and talking about it which is basically free publicity. Got it?
