Quoting: TealI don't the 2013 Shadow Warrior is a prequel, it's more of a reboot and this is a sequel to it.

Are you sure about that? Wang is waaay older in the original game.

So, that is a sequel of original Shadow Warrior. Why the hack did they not name 2013 prequel differently then?

Logitech F310 Gamepad Review On Linux
22 May 2015 at 6:35 pm UTC

Quoting: adolsonI have a bunch of gamepads*, but the one I am using now is the Nexus Gamepad by ASUS. It took much messing around to get working, but once I did, I haven't looked back. I even traded my previous favorite Logitech F710 (wireless version of F310, with rumble) for a second Nexus Gamepad to a friend who couldn't make it useful on Windows. The receiver for the F710 has a pathetic range - not suitable for the tenfoot experience whatsoever, and the battery compartment makes it less comfortable to hold than the F310.

Holy crap! I have just checked and Nexus Gamepad needs no receiver; as long as you have bult-in Bluetooth. I hate to use seperate receivers for different devices. Thanks for informing!

Quoting: ssokolow(Note things like Bastion where not even Humble Store is allowed to sell the DRM-free Humble Bundle build to new customers despite it already being in their CDN)

That is quite interesting. Cause, I grabbed Bastion with one of the Humble Indie Bundles and now I have access to both Steam and DRM-Free versions of the game. But I guess that may be expected; DRM-Free GNU/Linux built of Metal Slug 3 was offered by one of the Humble Bundles and there is no way to buy either DRM-Free or the GNU/Linux version right now...

Speculation: Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords For Linux Leaked By The ESRB

"As of June 2005, the Odyssey Engine has been retired, with no future titles based on it announced — rather BioWare has developed the Eclipse engine as the Odyssey Engine's successor."

Despite the fact being based on GNU/Linux supported Aurora Engine, I hardly expect a native port for that title. However, since it is a decade old single player game, I do not mind a WINE or eON port. Actually, it looks like the Windows version of the game uses OpenGL which may work with WINE fairly well.

Quoting: HamishFor what the game is and how it plays the control scheme is perfectly suitable, you just have to break out of the mouselook paradigm ingrained in your head by playing too many modern shooters.

So, does that mean there is no proper mouse look support? If that is the case, it is a huge shame. Cause unlike Doom 1 (not 2), Blood has many vertical enemy placement which required precise mouse look to kill; at least for my gaming style... I played BloodCM (eDuke32 port) for a while; it perfectly recreates original Blood with proper mouse look and widecreen support.

I cannot even play Star Wars: Dark Forces because of lack of vertical mouse look support...

Logitech F310 Gamepad Review On Linux

I have Logitech F310 and it is really a nice choice for GNU/Linux gaming; almost no customization needed. I am looking forward for couple F710 controllers but the requirement for seperate receivers makes me off a little bit. It would be great to have simple bluetooth connection just like DualShock...

Not actually, it's a DOSBox port.

Arma 3 Is Officially Being Worked On For Linux By An External Team, Won’t Be Native

So... I am not into Arma series but as far as I know it is a precision based tactical shooter which should rely on decent framerate. I do not see any reason to be fine with a non-native port in that respect. Yeah, playing a single player action RPG like The Witcher 2 or a single player FPS like BioShock Infinite around 60 FPS while Windows versions are waaay higher than that would be okay. But I cannot accept to play a system demanding competitive multiplayer shooter via wrapper. Sorry. Come on, Real Virtuality engine most probably has no OpenGL renderer; how can someone bear D3D > OpenGL wrapper in a multiplayer game?

Maybe we should consider the Linux friendly (OpenGL) game engines and companies. Therefore, we can cross out the games from Zenimax/Bethesda, Blizzard and Rockstar. Then we are mainly left with Unreal Engine games. Regards.
