GOL Asks: What have you been playing recently?
17 Mar 2016 at 8:06 pm UTC

For casual gaming Gravity Badgers and Canabalt. For my passion for old school shooters; Strife: Veteran Edition and Unreal Tournament (1999)'s single player mod Xidia Gold. Despite the fact Xidia is nowhere near polished as Operation: Na Pali, it is still quite a challenging mod which resembles the original Unreal.

Square Enix comes to SteamOS & Linux, Hitman GO: Definitive Edition released
24 Feb 2016 at 1:41 pm UTC

Square Enix and GNU/Linux? Well, I may support the game in order to get the attention of the company for porting Deus Ex: GoTY. Given the fact there was a Linux port on the way back in the day, it shouldn't be that hard.

How about cross-platform multiplayer? Has anyone tried it? There is no indication of cross-platform multiplayer in the store page.

Yeah, that is what I wonder.

Quoting: pbWouldn't it be the first native game released by Night Dive? I thought they only sell dosbox/wine/scummvm wrapped oldies.
Not really. They published The Original Strife: Veteran Edition as a native source port which rocks!

Sounds like Evolve. I cannot see its connection with my childhood's beloved MDK.

Buying Linux Games From Cheap Bundle Websites & Stores, Some Important Information

Quoting: pbWhen buying games ported by Aspyr or Feral outside steam, all you have to check is the publisher. Since these companies act as the publishers of their respective ports, and at the same time the games are 'steamplay', they simply sell their keys to game stores all around and it's not rare to see "aspyr sale" or "feral sale" at a given store, where they get their share regardless of the platform (yes, even if a windows user buys the game). Examples of stores where you can buy aspyr-published games are macgamestore.com or nuuvem.com, as well as smaller stores in many countries - they will probably not count explicitly as Linux sales, but the money will go to the porter, that is for sure.

Both Aspyr and Feral have their stores respectively. The best way to support them is to purchase their GNU/Linux ports from those stores.

Valve Is Trolling Us With A New Half-Life 3 Leak

Quoting: TeodosioThey have invested millions in Steam OS, plus a big part of their reputation. If they want to be sure that it is a success they have to provide a big exclusive.
Besides, as long as windows is around we are going to have problems.
That is most likely out of question. Otherwise Gabe Newell would contradict with himself.

"You won’t see an exclusive killer app for SteamOS from us. We’re not going to be doing that kind of thing."

Postal 1 Updated With Twin Stick Gamepad Controls, Possible Source Code Release & Sale
6 Oct 2015 at 9:30 am UTC

A year ago, I played it on my GNU/Linux laptop with keyboard and mouse for couple hours. Controls were wonky; I could not stand more than 3 levels. Source code release is so kind regardless.
