Aveyond 4, a popular Windows RPG released for Linux

The trailer sold me on this... Typically I don't like humorous RPG's (I also don't like RPG's that take themselves too seriously). The trailer struck a chord with me, and I think I'll have some good fun with this.

I really hope this comes to Steam. Steam on Linux has been very convenient. I'm going to buy the game, and if it comes to Steam, I'll even buy it again to show support.

Medieval II: Total War Collection released for Linux & SteamOS

I was able to play it at home with an i7 4960x, 32GB of memory, and a GTX 980. Performance is pretty good.

I tried Total War Attila today for the first time today too... and the performance there is terrible on the same hardware. A little googling show's that Attila's performance is TERRIBLE in Linux.

Oh well, I'm more interested in Medieval 2 anyway.

I tried it... After looking at the loading screen for a bit... Crashes back to desktop. Same thing with Empire total war which used to work. Downloading Attila to see if I get the same thing. Running nvidia drivers. Could be a driver issue because I see this in dmesg:
OpenGL dispatch[32531]: segfault at 0 ip 00000000f5d505ee sp 00000000e6b352e0 error 6 in libnvidia-glcore.so.358.16[f4448000+21a9000]

Half Life 2 still works (I didn't try anything else yet because I'm supposed to be working right now).

Oh well, can't wait to actually play it once it works... I LOVE Shogun 2... We'll probably never see a port of that though.

Spec Ops: The Line Released For Linux, Initial Port Report Included

I'm running with pretty high settings at 1440p with a GTX 980. I tend to stay in the 50's. I think that with a little polish, it could easily stay above 60 for me. That said, it's pretty good for a first release. And yeah, you get the occasional stutters just like in Bioshock. Overall, I get better performance with Bioshock. Maybe Bioshock's a bit less demanding?

Occasionally you see tearing even though vsync is on. I see the same thing with Bioshock. Maybe with eon we're getting some sort of "best effort vsync", where typically it won't tear but sometimes it will. I don't think it's an adaptive vsync issue as I have a system with gsync.

Otherwise, it's a pretty fun game. Yeah, it's a basic 3rd person shooter but sometimes that's enough. I had a blast with the 30 minutes I've played with it so far.

Initially I had issues using 360 controller, then I went to the calibration tool in kde 5.3, and I no longer had anymore issues.

Dead Island Patch Released For Linux, Finally Playable (Updated)
9 Feb 2015 at 6:08 pm UTC

Looks like the build version is 513663. Can anyone confirm that this is the new build?

My performance does seem up. Previously I was getting 75 to 90ish fps. Now I get 90-104 fps (I saw ONE dip to 89). I should really try this in windows at some point to compare. Has anyone compared the performance between Dead Island in Linux and in Windows? The performance in Linux was already good enough for me not to worry about it, I'm simply curious.

I've barely even played the game (a total of 3 times, with the first time briefly being in windows over a year ago), so I had no idea these things were broken. I thought I was only suppose to find money on the zombies, batteries in all of the computers, and liquor in all of the trash cans.

The Witcher 2 Has A New Beta For Linux, The Improvements Are Staggering

Just to follow up, using an older kernel (3.13) didn't fix the issue.

The Witcher 2 Has A New Beta For Linux, The Improvements Are Staggering

I have Witcher 2 build 503570, but I see a lot of crashes. If I turn the settings to "high", I'm able to start the game, and start loading a save, but it seems once the save loads (the spinning snake at the bottom right stops), I never leave the load screen, and the loading music plays indefinitely.

I put the settings on medium, and it worked, but I got the stuttering every few seconds and it's very noticeable and extremely annoying. From the posts I've read here, I think people are seeing varying amounts of stuttering. The amount of stuttering I see and how bad the stutters are would make the game unplayable for most if not all people I think.

I set the launch options in steam to "__GL_THREADED_OPTIMIZATIONS=1 %command%", the game starts up but now I can't even load my saves even on medium settings (same exact symptoms as above).

However, maybe my issues are in fact driver related. I have GTX 980 and nvidia drivers 346.35. Is anyone else having trouble with a Maxwell based GPU and/or the same (or close) driver revision?

My specs aren't exactly low end, so the stutter isn't related to my hardware. Here's my specs for reference:
i7 5960x
GTX 980
32GB ram
Kernel 3.18.5

I'm going to try an older kernel when I have some time, maybe the kernel related issue (something related to the LDT, right?) hasn't been entirely fixed (neither in the game nor on the kernel side).
