How to tell what Steam games work on Linux & SteamOS, steamplay does not mean Linux support
10 Apr 2016 at 11:08 am UTC Likes: 5

Quoting: StianTheDarkWhat consequences would it have for them as a company to not change it? Nothing. Therefore, they probably wont change it. It's just making more people use SteamOS because they don't realize the games support Linux. If there was some sort of sanction against Valve, they would probably do something.
yep. i talked with a few friends a few days ago and no one knew how to recognize a linux game on steam. its very misleading at the moment and i dont get why valve does not show the tux icon aswell... everyone know tux is linux but most people dont know that the steamos logo is linux and even worse, the dont even know it is steamos, they thought it is the steamplay logo...

valve officially supports linux, but does not show the os icon on the store. what is the point of it? is valve ashamed to show his linux support?

Interview With The Developers Of Cossacks 3, Which Is Coming To Linux
4 Aug 2015 at 3:45 pm UTC

Quoting: BeamboomThere's one piece of info in this interview that really stands out from the rest for me, and that's this:

"Steam actively supports games that have Linux versions"

He mention this twice, and was new to me. You should have digged more around this, Liam.
From how he express himself it does look like there are benefits on a wider perspective than just the Linux sales, I get the impression Valve gives some concrete additional benefits for the devs if they release the game for Linux too. One can only wonder what: Promotional benefits? Visibility in the store? Economical advantages across all versions?

Either way, it would explain quite a lot in regards to some of the ports we've seen coming our way.
Very interesting.

Quoting: fishxzso many ports. im beggining to asking me who will be the last. ea, activision, bethesda or ubisoft :o
Technically, we already have at least one Ubisoft port in Outland, which, unlike other Ubisoft games, doesn't require Uplay. Sometimes it seems like EA barely even supports Windows, and like Ubisoft, we probably won't see their games until there's a port of their wannabe Steam client (Origin). Bethesda? Who knows?

I think Activision Blizzard will be last. The day Call of Duty and WoW players switch to Linux in droves will mark the End of Days. I'm pretty sure that's written in a holy book somewhere.

Anyway, bring on SpecOps!
interesting, because i also think it will be activision blizzard :)

Quoting: Xpandergreat news.

witcher 2 and bioshock infinite are perfect for me without issues and superb framerate. (probably lot lower than windows versions, but got enough hardware to overcome that).
your are lucky. bioshock runs bad for me. windows version runs atleast 2 times better, if not more. feels a bit like playing on wine...

Ok, the shadows and the water are better, but this does not "make the game feel less empty"... This is just a small update.
