ScummVM to merge in ResidualVM, adding support for a number of 3D titles

On that matter, though off topic here, I actually loved the Star Trek game that came out after the 2009 movie. I count that as the second movie instead of Into Darkness, which simply was a travesty movie and best forgotten (like the last Star Wars Trilogy.)
I do have the 25th Anniversary on GOG, I think, or it may have been another one, would have to look again.

Quoting: whizseI actually had been looking into this fairly recently as I was being disappointed by the lack of the amount of released Star Trek games especially when you look at the plethora of Star Wars video games out there (whether good or bad).Quoting: PinballWizardWill it support the Star Trek 25th anniversary game? There's an unfinished engine [External Link] for that title, but maybe you already knew that? Doesn't seem like it has seen much work lately though.

Beyond that, I had tried to flash the new 3 core (since I didn't have a keyboard I had to do it with a USB Blaster) and it still said Release 2 in the early boot menu, so not sure where else that would be listed though. Otherwise I haven't had much time to play around with it.

Quoting: chrisqSo far.. keyboards have been interesting. I tried no less than 7 USB keyboards, and none of them worked. What finally did work is that (for another project) I had bought a PS/2 Keyboard/Mouse to USB adapter. That plus an old Logitech PS/2 keyboard actually worked!Quoting: slaapliedjeCool, looking forward to hearing about it. 👍Quoting: chrisqI really wanted them to come out with one for the A4000 (I have two A4ks and an A500+) I bout the A500+ mainly to check out the Vampire, and it's pretty awesome there, and would probably be my goto Amiga, except that it doesn't do AGA yet.Quoting: slaapliedjeI've been thinking about this myself, is it worth it to get the non-standalone?Quoting: chrisqYou beat me to it. It's kind of wonky to order one, you sign up on their page, but you won't get an email from them until they're ready for you to pay for your order. Would be nice if they could get enough stock in ship them out as they're ordered. I think it was 3-4 months for mine? They did say they'll ship it out next week, so I'm guessing I'll have the V4SA before the Atari VCS. I do already have a V2 500 in my 500+ with Checkmate 1500 case. It's a pretty sweet setup, just missing the AGA support!Quoting: Spl-itIt's here:Quoting: slaapliedjeThe Amiga inspired Vampire V4SA (ordered today)How and where ? not related to the Atari but I'm really curious about this one, I want one :woot:

He's writing about the Vampire v4 standalone:

I have a600, a1200, a500, a500+, cd32 and an a4000.
I wanted to replace the A3660 with a Vampire, as that is my Video Toaster version, and the 080 would be sweet there! My other A4000 is my overly expensive one with the PPC in it.
If you don't already have an accelerator / RTG in your A1200, I'd probably get one for that, as it'd be 'more Amiga' to me. But then as you already have all of those, may as well have the 'New Amiga' and get the stand alone :)
I'll let you know how mine is when I get it!

Quoting: Purple Library GuyI really should just go back to my N900...Quoting: slaapliedjeNot much faster, on those blasted little non-keyboards cell phones have.Quoting: mao_dze_dunYeah I want a phone that's all cli.Quoting: Perkeleen_VittupääOne of the biggest challenges for seasoned Linux users is to place oneself in the shoes of a new comer that's also a Windows refugee. What is "simple, handy and easy" (*just a few commands on the terminal*) for us, might be a set of total deal breakers for a "normo" to start with :grin:Had a friend back in the day, who didn't even like GUI. He was convinced everybody had to just learn to use the terminal (and obviously hated Windows). I once asked him: "What about some secretary in an office?", "Yes!!!". And meant it. I think a lot of people in the Linux community do not realize that " just one command" in the terminal is already too much for most people. And honestly - you can't be mad at somebody for not wanting to go out of his way when he doesn't have to.
Anyway - cool tool :D
How faster would it be to be able to type 'call john_doe' instead of having to click contacts, scroll through a huge list, hopefully click on the right one and then press the call button?
sms john_doe "hey bro, what's up?"
or
echo "hey bro, what's up?" | sms john_doe

Welcome to the USA. Where ultra violence is fine and sometimes encouraged. But don't you dare say a naughty word or try to see anyone fully naked!
(Had to bring that up as I was just getting into Conan Exiles again, where I had to order the UK version of the game so that the glory of full nude option is there on the PS4).

They aren't even considered 'curse' words anymore, but strong ones? I liked it when they were referred to as cursing. Gave you damn good method to damn someone :P By the way, damn is still my favorite word. Though for sure there are issues with how dictionaries now say dammit or damnit should be spelled... as apparently they don't like the version with the n in it...

Maybe now that these guys have fixed this for Epic, they will grace us with their one game that is so popular right now (not that it is my cup of tea as I don't tend to play multiplayer games with people I can't laugh directly in the face of when I axe them to pieces. Man, that was a fun Quake DM...)

Quoting: AwesamLinuxWeird that Unreal Engine does not have decent multiplatform video support in the first place. This does explain that while UE4 has fine Linux support, we don't get many UE4 based ports. If the devs have to normally pay to fix some shit version of their plugin for it to play videos on Linux, it is most likely deemed not worth it for releasing a Linux port...
Great that the devs managed to fix the plugin , so that they did not have to resort to some commercial third party solution (RAD Bink for example appears to charge a license fee for each platform... so I can see that it would really eat into profits from Linux and Mac releases).
I can imagine that it is unexpected issues like these that make developers give up on releasing on Linux.
Anyway planning to support them with a day 1 purchase

Quoting: bingusAfter so much Linux disappointment on Kickstarter, I'm really impressed with these guys. They've gone above and beyond with their support... I'm sure others would have just pulled the plug on us.Yeah, I am still miffed that Tower57 got even an Amiga OS4 that they outsourced, but the Linux version was dropped.

Quoting: GuestThey're all available on GOG. Ultima IV is actually available for free to download anywhere, it was released as free years ago.Quoting: slaapliedjeSomething needs to be done to set up all the ultimas with enhancements so I can finally sit down and play them all with MIDI music! We can probably do this
Can you point me to DRM-free versions of these games? Abandonware is not allowed by current ./play.it rules, but otherwise any DRM-free legit source is part of our scope.
By the way, it would be even better if you opened new issues on our forge [External Link] about these games, so our other contributors will notice them (I am not sure they follow GamingOnLinux comments threads).
