Quoting: FaalagornLike I said, I've came back to the game with my wife too, both bought Horizon DLC – .NET was a little pain to set up initially, but the game runs fine afterwards! o7 - CMDR Faalagorn

Edit: someone (some of you probably?) was writing about a Linux squadron on forums – if anyone makes one, I'm all for joining it!
We should work something out so we can get a fleet carrier! I need to get it working reliably in the Index.

I'm sure i'm missing something here; in no particular order:
Turrican (all of them - Amiga), Leander (Amiga),james pond - Robocod (Amiga), New Zeland story (Arcade) ,Toki (Arcade), and to stay "in topic", Gost'n Goblins (Arcade), Wonderboy (Arcade)
Or if you're proper old school... ;-)

Citadel, Quest, Plan B/Plan B II, Shark (forgotten classic!), Codename: Droid etc.
Really old school: Jumpman, Miner 2049er, Bonty Bob Strikes Back, Mr. Robot and the Robot Factory.
I loved creating my own levels in Mr. Robot.

I'd like to add Auf Wiedersehen Monty (the first game I bought with my own cash), Jet Set Willy, Cauldron II and Zorro to the C-64 list. Also Rick Dangerous II, Superfrog and Zool for the Amiga.
I have a love/hate relationship with Zorro. And now the music is in my head. I played them all on the Atari 8 bit. So many good POKEY tunes.

The Bard's Tale IV: Director's Cut is now out, adding Linux support and other goodies

So how does this compare with the other Bards Tale [External Link] (on GOG)? That one is one of my absolute favorites.

Definitely wishlisted (and I really don't care to wait a few hours/days until it shows up on GOG. Guess I'm too old to understand this type of hysteria...)
So the Bard's Tale you linked is made by the same people, but this is more along the lines of the included Bard's Tale 1-3 that came out in the 80s.

The artwork seems like they ripped it directly from Ghosts n' Goblins. Hopefully I don't break my steam controller playing it, like I would if I kept trying to play Ghosts n' Goblins...

This should be one of the Atari VCS' launch titles.

Quoting: 14Weren't the older Bard's Tale games comedic? This one looks like they walked away from that a bit.

Since it's single-player, maybe it won't be important to download every patch published by GOG.
Yes and no. There was the one top-view one that came out in the PS2 era (now the ReSparkled edition is on Steam, including the Apple II version of the original trilogy). The original Trilogy were more serious, but still had some silliness in them (if I recall, it had a spell called NUKE, and some monster named Fred.)

You also would randomly be beset upon by 200 orcs...

Working great on Star Wars: Dark Forces. Played that quite a bit last night. Not sure if it's my audio cable, or another issue, but the MT-32 is working, it's just very quiet.

The pain in the butt is that some games properly support the sound canvas, and others support the MT-32. There is a 3 hour long video explaining all of this on youtube, but I was only able to make it an hour in since I had games to play!

Cool, I'll do that when I get a chance.

I have noticed that it all depends on which USB port I connect the UM-ONE into is what alsa device ID it gets. Like one of my front ports was 24:0, one in the back was 28:0.

What should the dosbox config look like for the auto detect to work?

Edit: I did get an email stating that Bard's Tale IV Director's Cut should be available for Linux tomorrow, so I should test this tonight before I'm never heard from again... well at least until I can tear myself away from that...

We may have to start an ED support group, but it won't be for Erectile Dysfunction :P

I think I said it before, but I'll summarize it.
If you're planning on getting an x52;
Saitek: Good
Mad Catz: Crap
Logitech: Good.

Apparently the original Saitek was bought by Mad Catz and they're quality control sucked, so that brand of them tend to break easier. Logitech then bought Mad Catz and are using closer to the original plans that Saitek used. I actually have a Saitek branded one because I bought my controller years ago. The only thing wrong with mine is that a few of the buttons have the ink rubbed off on them. Otherwise it's tip-top. And I've put in a lot of hours of Elite: Dangerous. 200+
