Hopefully they fixed the AI. I remember this game being great, but your guys would just stand there and die if you didn't tell them to attack.

The changelog for Postal 2 mentions that the "Mac version will be updated as soon as possible" with no mention of Linux, although seeing as how Linux would be an entirely new platform for the game on GOG.com that is not in of itself surprising.

Progress finally seems to have been made, is what I am saying.
A bit late I know but... I don't think we can trust these devs, can we?
Tonight I read many posts on Steam and GOG about it, and it seems they don't really want to release Postal Redux and/or Postal 2 Linux version on GOG.
After many years, I understand that some people don't want to buy it anymore. :(
I trust Running With Sissors entirely, not really for "linux" reasons but just because they're awesome, I love those guys! They never gave up on Postal 2, it was buggy as hell when it first came out all those years ago but they never gave up, it's very very rare to see a company still release updates and new content for a game this old

That said, where's my Postal 3 RWS? (and I mean the real postal 3 xD)
Did anyone ever actually win Postal 3? I sure didn't it was just horrible...

Gnome 3.28.x has added detection for Optimus, when I right click on an icon in the gnome-shell it has an option that says "Launch using Dedicated Graphics Card" Haven't actually tried it yet, since I haven't set up bumblebee or whatever on my laptop.

Graveyard Keeper releases August 15th, should include Linux support

Nice when you go to buy a new game and you already have a coupon for it. Will need to play it tonight after I'm done for the day.

You mean, like this:
Space Hippies [External Link]

Or this:
Abe Lincoln in Space [External Link]
Exactly like that!

Ha, the space hippy episode...

Quoting: TheSHEEEPTime travel has always been a minor part of Star Trek, but never really played the main role - which is great, as time travel usually tends to make storylines ugly and messy.
Time travel played a major role in Enterprise with Archer as Captain. Maybe that's why I never really got warm with it.
Did it? That's weird - I loved Enterprise, thought the characters were amongst the best I'd watched, was gutted when it was ended... but I don't remember much in the way of time travel being a core theme. Honestly, I don't remember too much of any Star Trek series... ever. They all kind of merge into one for me. Voyager was great. I remember not enjoying DS9, even though everyone I've ever met tells me it was the best one. TNG was awesome of course. And I'm enjoying, mostly, Discovery, albeit one character's acting is leaving me cold.

But more Star Trek? Yes, please!
Enterprise was good but season 3 killed it. The whole doom and gloom kills Star Trek. The whole message from TOS was technology will push us into a peaceful future.
I loved TNG because it was the first I saw.
Deep Space was ok , but i disliked some of the themes. It felt more political rather than exploring space and the new frontier.
Voyager was ok but I disliked their captain. They tried to make her a strong leader but she always played too soft for me. Wanted to see more of her teeth. Loved the Klingon girl and Seven-of-Nine.
Have not seen Discovery yet.
Interesting, I actually like the most seasons 3 and 4 in Enterprise, they got the ideas really flowing. I remember being almost bored by season 1 while season 2 was the most Trek-ish.
But seasons 3/4 got me really excited, I very much agree that it felt less Star Trek at that point, but the action was really good and it kept me on the edge of the seat.
When I heard about the cancellation I was in disbelief, why then, when it started to kick ass?

Voyager, indeed, the prize for the most annoying Star Trek captain goes to....
Good thing we had the virtual doctor though. This scene always cracks me up:

DS9, sigh... all that religious and political crap annoyed me to no end, must confess that I was going fast forward through all that. As for characters, I think that Garak (the Cardassian tailor) was the most fascinating one. Oh, and Odo.

(all of the above are personal opinion and taste of course)
The theory is that the political and religious crap was injected because it was stolen from Babylon 5, which had been proposed to the studio, but then DS9 appeared with similar plot lines. But to be fair to DS9, a lot of weird things got into the Original Series of Trek, so it kind of fit as well into DS9. My problem was they started out with it in the first season... then pretty much didn't go much of anywhere with it.

Discovery would have been far better if they'd done it sometime in the future after Voyager. Or they'd done what I'd read rumors of long before Chris Pine was playing Kirk, and that was there was going to be a movie/series taking place during the Romulan war. But that hasn't happened yet.

Enterprise is one of my favorites because they (for the first time) brought back the old aliens from the Original Series. Jeffrey Combs as an Andorian? Sign me up!

Quoting: slaapliedjeNah, for a game this old it probably only uses a small amount of the spec. On the otherhand DX 11 requirement means that it requires Windows 8+, right?
D3D11 was introduced with Win7, IIRC.
ha, I can't remember anymore. Thought DX10 was with 7, and DX11 was Windows 8 and DX12 required Windows 10.

Quoting: slaapliedjeFound out why it's broken on my system. Apparently it depends upon libssl1.0.0 and Debian Sid is now running with libssl1.0.2 (and most things are using libssl1.1.0)

Hopefully they address this in the patch.
Does a symbolic link help?
Nope, it needed one for libssl and libcrypto. Then after that it was complainin that it needed OPENSSL1.0.0. So looks like ABI compatibility was killed.
