It'd be nice if there were more games that 'you bought this in Steam, here's your copy in GOG' out there. Seems they did a few, then never really added more.

Then again I'd use GOG more if I could be lazy and install them from a UI like Steam :P

Quoting: officerniceCan you guys do me a favour and hunt down some information if the remastered version of Red Faction: Guerilla is coming to Linux as well? :D I tried writing them on Facebook but go no answer.
This would be awesome! Would have to play through it again.

Looks like they're old enough that Infogrames was on it (so before they assumed the Atari name.)

Apparently I already have both of them! They going to port the second one?

:D
Never played it before. But already killed myself several times launching the bomb instead of the rope :P I had a game called Spelunker on my Atari800 (and still play it now and then in the emulator...). First thought it's the same game, but it is not.
Spelunker was an asshole of a game! The Arcade game isn't even as hard as the Atari version. It's exactly what I think of whenever I think of Spelunky. Wasn't there another Spelunker game that came out recently? Anyhow I think they're all sort of based on the old Arcade.

The Steam Linux market share for June was 0.52% as Steam is still growing rather rapidly

I always refuse the survey when it pops up on Windows.

Beep boop the Feral Interactive port radar has a UFO sighting for a new Linux port

Guess we could add Beamdog to that, though I think some of their previous ports haven't been day 1. Neverwinter Nights already had a Linux version, so not sure how much credit we can give them there.

Oh, also Inexile desrves credit as well! Their last few games have all been ported and they even fixed up Bard's tale to work, seemingly for everyone. I should finally play through the original...

Quoting: KelsBack when the original came out, I asked if it was coming to Linux and got a reply directly from the developer. They said probably not due to a middleware issue (which fortunately got sorted out in the end) but for following games they'd definitely be paying more attention to that.
Sounds interesting. I must remind myself from time to time that Feral is only second best, coming after a multiplatform release of the original developer.
So far Paradox has been the best at this pretty consistently. Kalypso is probably second, but they haven't done a release of Urban Empire yet.

Quoting: abelthorneI'm pretty sure this will be the same with the Atari VCS: if you can make your Linux games work, nothing will stop you to do it but don't expect to have a proper integration.
Well, if it's true, it's also totally crazy. Why the hell Atari would do this ?
I cannot remember any similar case (and i'm not so young ;)). On the contrary, console manufacturers are rather looking for games, especially when they launch a new system...
On the bright side, if Gnome Games can get some more love, it might become the universal game launcher for Linux.

Kind of wonder if that is what the Atari interface is, a fork / theme over Gnome Games.

Everyone is missing one huge thing from all this. We will hopefully be getting Tempest 4k! I think Jeff Minter considered a Linux port of Polybius at one point as well.

Wasn't Autocad at one point supposed to be in the works? Pretty sure they own Maya now..
