New Linux Gaming Survey For August

Ah, come on :) The game is really a treat for us.
Imagine that is an alternate Tolkien universe :)
Well, I simply can't get on it. If it'd be completely different: Maybe. But I cannot endure this 'a bit Tolkien but actually not quite' way of Mordor :D

I thought about buying it anyway but decided against it... - better saving for American Truck Sim - and waiting for a 'real' Tolkien game. Why not using the Akallabeth as story? Please guys: DO that :D

Not really interested in Shadow of Mordor. I'm too sad it's so far away from the Tolkien universe.

Damn, just had a look in the release calendar. Why do the "best" games start to be released in September? Bad timing, I'm starting university there :-(

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor Released For Linux, We Love You Feral Interactive

Cannot decide whether to buy or not. I'm actually a bit dissapointed of the game itself... - it's too less Tolkien for myself. Too far from the story AND the theme :/

Volo Airsport, An Air Gliding Game Released For Linux, We Have Keys To Throw At You
25 Jul 2015 at 9:30 pm UTC

Quite obvious:
I wanna get better at tricking gravity! I've never got the knack of missing the ground when throwing myself at it - although I can be easily distracted, in those situations it seems that I just have no luck.
A pair of wings would improve this situation very much!
Any other tips for a novice-flyer? I heard about those clubs mentioned in the Guide but never found one :-(

Unturned, A Highly Rated Free To Play Survival Game Released For Linux
8 Jul 2015 at 9:29 pm UTC

It was out for Linux in the beta branch for a months or so already! Anyway, now 3.0 is stable which is cool.

- It's neither F2P really (there is *one* DLC which only gives you an additional mode and cosmetic stuff and it only costs 5)
[afterthought: Actually it is free 2 play - taken literally]
- The early access shouldn't put one off too much. It's just one dev but he is really looking into giving frequent updates.
- Neither it is totally survival. For me it's also much crafting/building etc. Quite a nice game.

I had no performance problems on my GTX970 on highest settings bu, obviously, on my old lapop with and intel Centrino and a nVidia G105M I had - but I did not expect anything else^^

The stuff is built using Unity5 - not the fastest but definitely good.

Terraria Sandbox Game Plans A July Linux Release
24 Jun 2015 at 8:00 pm UTC

I have to admit that this is one of the least-sought Linux releases for me, simply because it ran so well in wine for me. Anyway, I in no way do not appreciate this :D
