I will start take Wine seriously when they implement proper X-input support and XBOX 360 controller will work in the games. Not only in the wine joystick preferences..

Quoting: PixelPiWow. Hitman 2016. Really? Feral do not make any prisoners. :D

EDIT: "HITMAN FOR MAC IS STANDING BY FOR METAL"

Metal becomes a running gag.
Metal aside... TBH i still dont understand how some publishers even consider to port AAA games to Mac. Yes, market share looks promising, but then you look at the HW and you see very basic mobile GPUs and you have to realize that it does not matter if you choose to use OpenGL or some Metal magic because macs are so terribly underpowered that only thing what makes sense now is porting games to Linux. Maybe one day will Apple get their sh*t together and enry level iMacs or mac mini will get at least GTX1050M, but porting games like Hitman or DE:MD to GPUs like Intel Iris Pro or for some old radeons is a nonsense. Linux is the way to go for Feral, Aspyr, VP and others.. Apple does not care for gamers. Believe me, i know what i am talking about as past iMac owner(late 2012 with GT650M - replaced for X51 R2 + GTX1060 for the same price..)

The latest Steam Beta Client fixes a nearly 4 year old Linux issue, fixes other Linux issues
8 Jan 2017 at 9:55 am UTC

I am not sure how many people are actually working on linux client itself or if i have reported this bug to the right place, but they are still ignoring it..

How can they be taken seriously if they dont fix basic UI glitches?

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided looks like it may be getting a Linux & SteamOS release

Well... nice fairytale :) But since this game is more demanding than Batman Arkham Knight (fixed long time ago), realistically i don´t see posibility for this game to come to Linux. You must have quite powerful GPU. Even GTX 970 is barely usable on Windows and Linux port will degrade performance 40-50% so you will need GTX 1080 to play this on "High" preset at 1080p @ 40-50 FPS on Linux. So how many Linux gamers have latest, high-end rig? This port would make no sence financially, but the same applies for Mac port with their laughable laptop-grade GPU´s and yet, they still have better games. So if they want to do it, they will need to degrade graphics greatly. Feral and Aspyr should port their older games to Linux. Older Deus EX HR-DC, Batman games, Bioshock 1+2 or Rage.. and then they can reconsider Arkam Knight and maybe Mankind Divided, when it is fixed and complete edition out, sometimes next year..

Overlord for Linux release date announced, arriving tomorrow the 21st of July

Uhm... so unknown game i have never heard off gets a linux release. But users bitching abou Witcher 1 for linux are ignored. Even if VP alredy have Witcher1 eOn port on Mac.. Maybe if they would cooperate with CDR and include also community mods like Rise of the White Wolf or HD texturen mod, it would sell 10 times more than some unknown Overlord 1+2.. but okay. Let´s not be greatefull..

And what about Aspyr or Feral porting their best Mac titles to linux? Titles like Deus Ex:HRDC, Rage, Broderlands 1 or Batman games? Maybe Bioshock 1+2 or KOTOR1? Again nothing.. Not to mention a fact that Mac is a joke platform to port games for. How many mac users actually have top end mac with decent mobile GPU? Less than all linux users.. but let´s not sound frustrating or pissed.. No way. I am sure Aspyr/Feral know better. Of course also VP knows what we don´t know..

Don't Count On Any EA Frostbite Powered Games On Linux

quote "less then 1% of the potential audience, even Mac (which we don't support) is more than 3x larger"

Dear Johan, you are terribly wrong in your statement and it does not reflect reality..

Only a very narrow portion of Mac users have actually a half-decent GPU capable of serious gaming at least in 720p. Mostly only a few recent iMac´s in higher configuration with some nvidia GPU can deliver acceptable experience. Your "3x larger" market is much smaller than you think and multiple times smaller than current linux potential. Many user wants to dump their Windows copy, abandon that platform but something is still missing, force them to dual-boot. (hint:games)

But things have finally started to change this year thanks to Valve and fantastic work or Feral, Aspyr, Virtual Programming and others..

I was one year a Mac user, purchased expensive iMac with nvidia GT650M and the performance was on the edge of my tolerance, playing most games around 720p in medium details. It´s known that most Mac user are laptop users with some Intel HD graphics, useless for serious gamming so you cannot make from entire OS X market share "potential gaming audience", because it is simply not..

It was actually funny and quite puzzling for me when i have realized this fact after a year of Mac usage. I was not able to understand why publishers like Feral or Aspyr even bother to make ports for OS X, targeting very narrow group of users with more powerfull Macs, because in reality only a few OS X users can enjoy biggest AAA titles decently.

So in reality has Linux much bigger "potential audience" than Macs. OS X market share means absolutely nothing, when looking at through his "gaming potential". On the other side, linux gamers with their variety of gaming PC´s, that is a completelly different story..
