I tried to launch the game but couldn't even get through the launcher. I couldn't find my screen's resolution on the list. It doesn't seem to support 2560x1440 at all, highest I saw was 1920x1200.
Speculation: A job posting for Elite Dangerous hints at possible future Linux support

I've been waiting on a Linux port of this for a long time. Bought Star Citizen as at least Chris has said on multiple occasions that he wants to support linux (sounds like Vulkan, he wasn't happy with Crytek's OpenGL perf). I was hoping ED could hold me over for a bit but they haven't even confirmed that they were working on a Linux build...
If anything, given the latest expansion was $45 for existing owners I'm glad I waited.

Quoting: LukeNukemMan, I hope to hell that it becomes a Linux exclusive. That would seriously get a lot of knickers in twists. You can give up that hope. Valve doesn't do exclusives. They've stated specifically when asked about Steamboxes that they don't plan to ever have a Steambox exclusive, they want their games on all supported platforms.
XCOM: Enemy Unknown Free Weekend & XCOM 2 Available For Pre-Order For Day-1 Release

I agree with the above that it's best to wait and make sure it's truly day 1 release before buying.
That said, XCOM2 is one of my most wanted games, very happy that it's going to be on Linux. Would be even better if it was fully native from Firaxis, but at least it's not a wrapper.

Looks Like Shadow Of Mordor Won't Support AMD Graphics On Linux At Release

I don't think Aspyr 'fixed' their AMD issues on Civ... it has a number of graphical features disabled from the Windows one (water, high detail terrain). I think the backlash here, Reddit and Phoronix probably just made them cut any features that didn't work on AMD so that they could claim compatibility.

Buying this day 1 for sure. I loved the first Amnesia and day 1 Linux build is impressive, especially with a custom engine.

Isn't UE4 the most advanced open source game engine? This is free software and UE4 is not, but aren't both open source?
Why Are We Still Dual Booting?

I have always and will continue to dual boot for the foreseeable future; however I am more likely to buy a game I'm not sold on or buy it before it drops as heavily in price if it has Linux support. For example I bought Hotline Miami 2 at full price whereas I generally wait for a Steam sale on Windows games. I have plenty of games to play, being able to play it in my primary OS makes me much more likely to buy it and spend time in it.
