Orwell: Ignorance is Strength is now out with full Linux support
1 Mar 2018 at 3:08 pm UTC

I picked up the first one iteration this week (the 1st Orwell game from 2016). Wondering how it's connected to chapter 2? If there a benefit to playing though the 1st one first? Asking because I haven't tried it yet, but bought it in anticipation for Ignorance of Strength (and because it was on sale).

194 hours in, and loving the game. This game's Dev is one of the good guys. He also broadcasts a lot of his game development on Twitch, which I would assume is a somewhat rare thing. Game is definitely worth a few shillings of your local currency.

PS - It's also brutally-hard on default settings. Which is a good thing.

Let's not forget all of the Awesome mods for 7 Days to Die and Transport Fever. There is a massively-vibrant Workshop community to be found in both of these games.

Fantasy city-building strategy game 'Hearthlands' adds a peaceful win condition
11 Dec 2017 at 6:59 pm UTC

I've owned this game and can highly recommend it. BTW - Without an obvious "win" scenario, the default "win" condition is to survive and not be obliterated by neighboring nations and enough baddies and thieves within your own ranks to take your empire down. Don't let the cuteness fool you, on "default" settings the game is hard. Your army can turn on you. Disease. Invaders. pizzed-off and power-hungry nations eying your spoils.

On top of that, a few wrong moves and your population (those that survive, that is) can just up and leave your ass high and dry and go search out a better place to live, thus leaving you with a massive labor shortage which of course is as bad or worse than what a neighboring army can do to you.

Of course, you can customize the game to your heart's content, thereby playing the game to suit your needs and plastyle. Highly recommended.

Looks crazy, hard, and potentially a lot of fun.

Transport Fever patched again with some good quality of life improvements

I love the game and play it all the time - 582 hours so far. On my rig, performance is fine until later-game when it all comes crashing to a 10 FPS disaster. But the journey there is fun enough and the Steam Workshop is VERY active, all which makes it worthwhile to me.

Great (and very challenging game. The "Ruins" part lives up to the name. Definately a great addition to any Linux gaming collection.
