Do you have to configure controller in Dirt?
Be aware that some games expect keyboard or gameoaf from the start. If you choose a gamepad template to start with, it present your controller ad one to the game even if you change buttons to keyboard actions. If you choose KB+M to start the game perceived the controller as one, literally. This has helped me in many cases.

Another often unoticed feature is that new touch menu. In some games I set a buttin to mode shift the right or left touchpad to be the touch menu this lets you configure up to 16 on screen buttons. Very useful for button heavy games.

Quite liking my Steam Controller with games, now that Portal 2's official multi-tiered controller setup is fixed now (wasn't working for me before). I even got most of my "tweaks" to memory for when I setup a new game. Really loving it. So happy I can now play mouse adventures as well, like Grim Fandango.

Omg this rocks. I was a backer. Have to check my Kickstarter profile! That is for the heads up! I am a huge fan of the old games.

I did the 30$ beta access level but I have no idea how to get my Steam key.
